If you have a daughter you love, you don't address her as "11-year old blond little female human". You respect her by calling her by *name*, you speak to her as a person, you don't speak of her as she's a mass of different combined formulas. ~~~~` I observe it functioning more as a sort of arrogant game: See who can reduce the webcomic into the most tropes. See who can chop off the victim into the most pieces and name all the little chopped off pieces of flesh. Right. Which is why you never say that your daughter has nice hair, or is growing taller, or has developed appreciation of Tiger Woods as a golfer. After all, that would be chopping her up into a series of trite caricatures, right?

By all means, please keep bringing up the topic that Tom's already said he didn't appreciate. Because that's really helping the situation.

emptypiro, it's right there on the front page! You mean you can't hear those wonderful voiceovers? Those graceful, practiced and refined dance steps? That acting that makes you forget it's not happening in the moment? That soul-wrenching score that makes you buy the OST before you buy the film? Don't your eyes simply well up with liquid joy every time you see the wondrous, awe-inspiring, front page? "Am I missing something?" Pfft. This higher, nay, paramount art form cannot be "missed".

It does scale automatically to your computer's processing power and bandwidth availability, though. Tom got a really sweet deal on high end vector-based CGing for working on this project. The scaling starts reducing the texturing and color depth before it begins decreasing the framerate.
I'd imagine the graphics would start to be a little cartoonish if your machine is on the low end, but even on my brother's Pentium ][ it still has amazing color depth and shading, even over dial-up, so I imagine that any decent computer shouldn't have any issues with the vid.

A somewhat hilarious running joke, I might add!

Seriously? I thought the whole time City Face was supposed to be some sort of MMORPG. I ordered the Limited Collector's Fantastical Lengendary Edition to get the exclusive:
[Mantle of Robox's Fervour] Binds when equipped Cloth Chest 123 Armor +5 Strength +2 Intelligence +45 Spirit Durability: 35/35 Requires level 113 Equip: Has a chance to dispense chocolate and rainbows upon hitting an enemy
The Very Nice Man at the counter told me that the game would be shipped to me When It's Done. I can't wait!

I can't think why all of you are making such a big fuss over this movie. Unlike the classics- Snow White! Cinderella! and so on!- this'll be passe by next week.

Man, you guys have to get into the beta. I mean, there are still a few bugs, and the placeholder icon for unfinished models is pretty terrible, and we can't fight anything, and the second shadow race is currently unworkable due to the dynamic lighting being implemented, but other than that... Anyway, I have a screenshot of me fighting one of the forest minibosses. The model isn't fully implemented, so you'll have to use your imagination.

Whoa that was weird. Did anyone else catch the 10th page by clicking the back button? Except strangely enough the page is missing now and now its all correct. You probably don't believe me though.
There were 4 panels. CF, after rejoicing his success in wooing, notice another pigeon that is also ultra super bummed that his dancing and wooing skills are not super awesome. CF then remarks that he happens to know how to dance better than a dancing fairy.

His wooing skills are super awesome and also has the super shiny neck feathers. I see Thomas managed to logg in for a bit to change my past account's status to "guest." He underestimates the power of a yahoo e-mail account. But whatever, I'm not one to hold a grudge. Hopefully this won't last too long.

Right. Which is why you never say that your daughter has nice hair, or is growing taller, or has developed appreciation of Tiger Woods as a golfer. After all, that would be chopping her up into a series of trite caricatures, right? I wouldn't say she has nice hair like {link to 5 blonde celebrities} or growing taller like {link to 10 child-actors} or developed appreciation of Tiger Woods like {link to 20 famous Tiger Woods fans}. I'm trying to say that there's a difference between discussing characteristics, and reducing things to formulas. I don't even mind the tv trope expressions, really -- when used to describe complex concepts like Chekov's Gun, and therefore serve a purpose. But most of the times the links to them are the proof one doesn't actually want to discuss the particular item in questions, they care to discuss only the formulas. Let me quote you a recent post in the Sluggy Freelance boards. (links changed to boldface) www.sluggy.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=11637&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&start=30 >One Heroic BSOD coming up!
I'm thinking Batman Gambit combined with For the Evulz for Schlock, personally. I'd go on about spanners, but spec etc. This was pretty damned graphic, even for the current "Watch Oasis Slaughter 498 hC Mooks in 10 Seconds" direction we've been going in for awhile.
Almost forgot the Oh Crap moment Oasis and the Zalias had in those final panels.
Moral Event Horizon for the hC guards behind the Zalias, and for Schlock himself I think.
If you actually enjoy writing or reading such stuff then we have nothing in common. Let me just say that there was nothing meaningful here: These paragraphs changed to English either said the blindingly obvious (e.g. "oh crap"), or the utterly wrong ("Batman Gambit") or the utterly irrelevant. (e.g. "Moral Event horizon"). And I've never seen the links become relevant, exactly because tv tropes are meant as generalizations -- and therefore are vastly inferior tools when discussing a specific work. When discussing the politics of France, treating it as a RomanCatholic-majority Republic, wouldn't give you much help in figuring out its political or social differences from Italy or Germany or indeed Mexico. If I'm so opposed to Tv tropes is because I consider them to impede not aid discussion.

Oh My Goldfish! People talk about City Face and not TV Tropes, okay? The ones who want to argue about TV Tropes go do it on AIM or something. I'm actually a little timorous about tomorrow's comic. It's the last one, Tom could do anything to us. It could be a tragic ending where they both get stomped on by drunken Englishmen. That would be super awful for everyone

That would be super awful for everyone I'd say it'd be more likely to be a drunken Scotsman . No offense to any Scots reading this, they just tend to have superior stealth skills while inebriated.

This game is going to rock our socks off like there is no tomorrow! Back on topic, it's good to see the lady pigeon has finally noticed City Face. What could happen next? Let's just hope Zimmy doesn't find these two while Gamma is away.

I am glad I did not accidentally see the last page, I am all excited waiting to see it tomorrow!
