You know, maybe Zimmy is trying to be nice in her own twisted way. She thinks CF's situation is so bad that suicide is the only solution, so she's offering to off him. The fact that she gets to feast on sweet, sweet pigeon meat is just a bonus. It's a love story, so a massive wedding rice induced explosion, perhaps? Or Tom could just go this route. Holy carp that's comic #113 in the ASW archives!

Gamma's looking tired as ever. Makes me kinda sad, but she shows her strength!

Zimmy would do anything for Gamma, really, so it's not that much of a stretch that Gamma keeps her in line.

I noticed that Gamma looked slightly younger in this strip. Makes sense since this happens pre-Court

Tom said City Face is canon, so this apparently is the same Zimmy and Gamma that we already know. I made a page on the wiki with the "reader comments" from the first five pages here.

Poor City Face doesn't understand humour And it would have been such a good joke too, if Gamma hadn't interupted.

Zimmy is australian?

Australian English is based off that of some of the urban areas of England, such as Cockney and the like. So no, it's just shared slang.

After that last panel, I think City Face might be my twin. (Ya, I'm a little gullible...)

Hehe, I just noticed that the City Face logo is now over the Gunnerkrigg Court logo. Shows ya how slow my mind is at the moment.

Really? We've known that Zimmy lies to Gamma about what people are saying since Power Station (and actually got a hint about it way back in Gamma's first line. The theory is that, since Gamma doesn't speak English and Zimmy needs her so badly, Zimmy lies to her to feed her shyness and to keep her from making connections with other people. Severe co-dependence. ...if everything I just said is not news to you, then I apologize

No it is not news to me, it was just how folorn and miserable Gamma's badly spelled message was that got me.
p.s. Speaking of that first line Casey linked to, what is Gamma actually saying?

I believe, based on some google-fu, it is Polish for "stupid". Annie's response is something along the lines of "That's not very nice". EDIT: In fact, here's the wiktionary entry for it: en.wiktionary.org/wiki/g%C5%82upieEDIT to avoid a doublepost: A thought just occured. If Gamma smack Zimmy's head while CF had his head in her mouth, wouldn't that just make Zimmy clamp it shut, or at least jerk her head in such a way that CF would get impaled on her teeth?

I am completely enamored of Gamma's elder-sister-style head slap. Less so of the comments. It's sadder now that we know that Zimmy is doing it on purpose. I hope Gamma actually saw (well, "saw") the "GAMMA = " from Polo.

Gamma also doesn't have black lips here. I'm pretty sure Tom mentioned that she doesn't wear make-up. I wonder where she gets the blackness from.

The black lips is stylization.
Gamma seems younger in this because this is a more lighthearted saga - also why Zimmy is so happy. Well besides having an opportunity for food.

Gamma needs to get Zimmy on a better diet if all she has been eating are pigeons and spiders. She kind of reminds me of a friend that way. I'm guessing this is Zimmy before she met Gamma. Or at least, before she came to Gunnerkrigg. She's wearing that turquoise shirt rather that the GC uniform, and looks slightly younger than regular Zimmy. Well, I was sure wrong about that!

Ah the shift to seriousness. Inevitable in any webcomic... Unless it began in a serious mood, as "Gunnerkrigg Court" did (opening with a young girl coming to a mysterious and creepy boarding school, discovering that she has a second shadow, and having to help it across the river separating the school from the dark and equally mysterious and creepy forest). I don't know if there's such a thing as a Reverse-Cerebus Syndrome or any examples of it - though if Tom ever lets his head get turned by the praise for the sequences involving Dr. Disaster, Boxbot, Robox, etc. to the point where he decides to revolve the webcomic around them rather than around Annie's adventures and explorations....
