Here is a new thread to ask questions.
Normal rules apply:
No questions about Reynardine's body snatching powers (because the topic was driven into the ground). Internet-hilarious questions will be ignored. I can't give anything away about the plot. If your question is skipped, it's most likely because I didn't want to, or couldn't, answer it.

Dear Tom, Your work is fantastic and I hope you forever remain inspired to create these wonderful stories. My question today is about Page 115, frame 4 and Robot's subsequent lines for the next few pages. Robot's original voice in chapter one is a green angle-y speech bubble (as are all the robot voices... nice touch) but here it is clearly overlapped by another voice... as if someone were speaking through Robot's voice circuits. My question is, is this Ysengrin's voice (who planted the seed in Robot) or the Shadow Man's voice (whom Ysengrin instructed to take control of Robot's body and walk him back across the bridge) or is it Robot's voice, just sounding odd, or is it something else entirely? In short: How should we voice these lines in the GKCFP? I would very much like to stay true to whatever your wishes are for these lines!

Did you like Paris? I've been there once, and can't wait to be able to go again!

I always imagined it as another voice talking on top of Robot's regular voice.

Did you like Paris? I've been there once, and can't wait to be able to go again! I was only there for a layover in the airport for a while. Then I went to Spain.

What materials/processes/etc. do you use to illustrate the comic?

Here's my last questions from the previous thread:
Is Coyote's accent (which you said is American) Native American or just American?
How well-known outside of Gunnerkrigg Court is the 'permanent exchange program'? Does Gunnerkrigg advertise it in any way, and if so, how?

So, are box-ING bots still terrible? Or are they barely balanced a syllable away from... well... the unspeakable.

They don't advertise.

How did Aly's parents learn about the 'permanent exchange program'? Word of mouth?
What's more common: humans becoming residents of Gillitie Wood via the 'program' or Gillitie residents becoming humans via the 'program'?
Which covers a larger area: Gunnerkrigg or Gillitie?

1, They were the kind of people who needed to know about it.
2, It's more common for creatures from the wood to become human.
3, Gunnerkrigg.

Hello, Tom.
Fist off I would like to commend you for making such a fascinating and captivating story. I deeply respect the art and story process and all the time and effort you put into this comic. You work is well appreciated!
Now for the question, and feel free to skip over it if it doens't fit in with your comment priorities above. But I'm starting my own webcomic fairly soon and I was wondering if you have any tips for getting started. Like what sites are best to host from, how to pace yourself when making the comic itself, and what's the best scheduel to post the pages itself?
As I said, sorry if I'm bothering you with this question, for I understand you are a busy man.

I'm sure there are better ways to do things, but I only know the way I do them. So:
My comic hosted on DreamHost, which worked fine until the site became too large for their normal shared-hosting plan. Their VPN service has been working out well so far, but I pay extra for it. It's not really a concern until your site gets large enough.
Before I put my comic on-line I made my three month buffer of pages. I was only uploading 2 pages a week back then, but then I found I was able to make three pages a week, so I upped the schedule when I was sure I wouldn't fall behind. Your update schedule should be entirely dictated by how many pages you can do. If you can draw three pages a week, then update three days a week. If not, then update less.

"Boxbot" "Robox" "Blocker bot"- do you come up with clever names for all of the robots at the court or just the silly ones?

What's in a name? That which we call a robot by any other word would smell as terrible.

that comment about the robots made me laugh, thank you!
My question is: when a human does decide to go to Gillitie Forest, who do they actually go to to inform whoever of such decision?

It's on a case by case basis.

Does a human get to choose what animal they want to be when they take the test into Gillitie? (in before Tom grows tired of answering questions about the suicide tests!)

Yes they do.

If you took the test and moved into Gillitie, what animal would you be?

I asked this in the old thread but wasn't sure if it went unanswered because you didn't want to or because that thread was dying anyway. I'll ask again just in case it was the latter:
I think you said the houses at Gunnerkrigg Court were named after the houses at your old school. Are any other elements of the GC world based on your own experiences?
On a side-note, I am loving the latest chapter - can't wait to find out more about this wooden dog!

Regarding the squad of robots advancing on the wooden dog thing in the last two pages: are they glowing, or aura-ing, or something along those lines; or is it a background coloration style that just makes it look that way (like the kids in panel 3 of #551)? They have a wispiness above their heads that reminds me of other scenes, but they *are* in the background so maybe I'm overinterpreting.

Do humans always become insentient beings (like Aly did, as you once said) when they become residents of Gillitie?

My questions from the old thread: - Did you design the entire website yourself? Does it use any content management system, like ComicPress?
- Do you have a schedule for drawing on the weekend? Like say, doing a page on Saturday and two on Sunday, or drawing one day and coloring the next?

Pretty much all of the school side of things is directly based on the school I went to. Some areas are even drawn to look just like they were back when I used to go. There are lots of my own experiences used throughout the comic. Most of them are only identifiable by me though.
