LAUGHING ON LINE, this face. I love Mort so much. I'm starting to think Annie does too.

Yes, yes he does. ;D
In other news, the thing that blows my wheels most of all is that someone freaking called this.

It's nice to see this chapter end on a good note, especially without all the destroying and whatnot. A destroyed Mort would have destroyed my heart. That Annie, always the joker. Maybe come Christmas she'll have Beelzebub himself - or the motley crew of demons/psychopomps - deliver all her gifts to save time. Or maybe con Muut into doing it, with Reynardine acting as the stand-in reindeer for the sled.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH--->What."
This chapter is a GOLD MINE!
That's so adorable. I enjoy the group of demonoids; hope we'll be seeing more of those. Especially "It's got a heart" dude. We should name him!

How do you say "sorry" to a ghost? You scare the living daylight out of him! Annie indeed is a formidable mastermind. Thinking of an apology like this through all the current turmoil. Anyone else would've just asked Muut to go to him and say "sorry". Especially "It's got a heart" dude. We should name him! I think you just did! ;D

Psychopomps! For which religion/race/species/classification?
There's a fishy one on 534, and the 'it's got a heart' one also looks kinda fishy.

Yes, yes he does. ;D In other news, the thing that blows my wheels most of all is that someone freaking called this. Me, to a friend who is unfamiliar with the awesomeness that is Gunnerkrigg: Saturday, March 14, 2009 she signed on at 12:14:50 PM me (12:31:39 PM): Hahahahahaha, this page www.gunnerkrigg.com/archive_page.php?comicID=534her (12:31:59 PM): wut me (12:32:28 PM): Not sure yet XD me (12:32:46 PM): The ghost's name is Mort, but I have no idea about the monsters yet me (12:33:01 PM): I think they're gonna be like, "LAUGHING ON LINE jk we have a message"

If Annie planned to scare him like that, that was brilliant. The "P.S. Boo" seems to indicate it and his laughter seems to accept it. Sooo cute!

Would-be matchmakers are probably going to read far too much into Annie drawing a couple of hearts on her apology card.

When some people were all "Oh she's going to send a note to her mother!" My thought was "Have these people been reading this comic at all? Who really thinks communicating with people in the 'aether' is that simple?"
It is fun to be right! And who would trade this ending for something else, really? Awwww!

When some people were all "Oh she's going to send a note to her mother!" My thought was "Have these people been reading this comic at all? Who really thinks communicating with people in the 'aether' is that simple?" It would have trivialised the concept of death and the afterlife – “Oh, too bad my mummy’s dead, but we can still send letters …” – so indeed I think we should be thankful it was a letter to Mort after all. Which makes more sense within the context of this chapter anyhow.

Betcha ten bucks one of those monsters on the previous page was Ketrak. There is a buggy-thing with the monsters, but I just read the whole "Questions for Tom #2" forum (What can I say, my job is pretty boring), and at one point Tom said something about Ketrak not necessarily being monstrous, but more the essence of an insect. The kind of thing that would be a relief in the eyes of an ant being crushed by a thumb. Not quoting exactly here, but basically what I got from it was that while Ketrak might be creepy-crawly to someone who's not big on bugs, like Kat, it's not necessarily terrifying to behold. So, I don't think so. Also, the green underbite monster is the BEST! I would make him my avatar if I wasn't so enamored of robox. I think we all agree that robox is pretty awesome, though.

Boxbot is cool too. Poor scrappy...
Anyway, I like how the monsters are all of a suddenly like, "Ooh, look a letter...and it's got a heart on it!" Silly monsters...
And is it me, or does the door say "Silent" on it?

And is it me, or does the door say "Silent" on it? Yep! It always has.I honestly can't decide if Boxbot is the Scrappy or a subversion, as most of his charm is based on his terribleness. I heart this page. Very Annie...and I feel like we've seen her grow up, just a little.
