This is a better strip than we deserve.Oh, something else happens too. Something about Anja and rocks and stuff, I think. But would you look at that Robox. He is so not terrible! Not like ol' whatsisface.

OK, I rarely make demands of those who give me free ice cream, but dammit, there are limits, and Tom's just gone across a major trip wire.
Cage match, Boxbot versus Robox. Now. Or I'll grind my teeth in frustration, and nobody wants to see that. Trust me.

We know how the fight would go down. Robox would kick boxbot's butt. Because Robox has legs.

Cage match ? Robox wins instantly, just by being here.

Robox... what the hell were you smoking, Tom, when you came up with him? ;D
Anja is even more awesome than Robox though. Especially remarkable how "well" she gets along with Rey. All things considered I'd expected more like cold contempt from either of them.
Question/speculation: Did Anja know about the painting before Annie and Kat (re)discovered it? Was it walled up because it was disrupting the proper operation of the court's robots?

Yes, everyone thinks Robox wins, automatically, of course.
But consider: Boxbot always does whatever makes people hate it.
Boxbot could deliberately try to throw the fight, and would still win. Somehow.
And everyone would hate it.

Boxbot could deliberately try to throw the fight, and would still win. Somehow. And everyone would hate it. So by losing, you Win? Everyone loves Robox, and hates Boxbot, so that people will hate Boxbot even more if it wins against the Court favorite. The fight isn't between appendages. It's between Boxbot's tendency to make people hate it, and Robox's tendency to make people love it.

Haven't you people ever watched Battlebots? Everyone loves the leg robots, but the wheel robots win.
Wheel box robots are terribly cheap fighters and justly people should hate them.

Frankly Boxbot would have to win in a box-to-box match between them. He's solidly on the ground, could throw Robox around without any trouble. Robox would fall over if he so much as tried to kick anything >.>
Tom, what the hell.
All in all a great page - I second most of what's been said.
Oh, dammit. IDEA. One of these days Robox and his nemesis Boxbot will merge to become ULTROBOXBOT.

What is that picture? It looks interesting. It's an old 8-bit puzzle platformer called Head over Heels, where the eponymous main characters (who could stick together or separate) had different, complementary abilities that had to be used one at a time or together to solve fiendishly difficult problems. The pic is not from the original game but some modern remake that may or may not still be in the works.

But then I laughed.

I haven't had the chance to say this before, but Tom is great with designing clothes for his characters. I love Anja's blouse, and the whole Annie outfit, I wish I had clothes just like those.

Wait, so one has legs and the other has arms. One is loved and the other is hated. So what would happen if we had a robot with arms AND legs? Is that even possible? We're messing with dangerous forces!

Hey, Robox *is* pretty awesome. And Yin, neither is the evil twin of the other. They're totally different, and I see no way to confuse them whatsoever.

I had to try SO HARD not to burst out laughing in this quiet computer lab full of people writing papers.
This is the best page ever.

We're messing with dangerous forces! I submit that such a robot, one with both legs and arms, would be the only functional one of the three. Exactly what is Robox's function? I can only imagine it being able to deliver slices of toast. Sure stole the strip, though... didn't even notice there were two cells after Robox made its exit...

What a great time for a return to the forum; new GLORIOUS character! I hope Robox gets a bonus page.
Oh and Annie gets to learn to use magic, I guess that's pretty cool too.
EDIT: one more post, folks.

Maybe Anja wouldn't have known about the painting until Kat told her because she never got Diego's robots to work, but I'm really sure that Anja knew when she gave the girls the key to the unit that they would find and open the hatch and discover the secret robots. It certainly makes her dialogue in this strip make more sense to me. I'm probably the last person to figure this out, but there you go.
