Now, even for me raises the question...what song would have that effect on a girl!? Let's find it and use it to our advantage, boys, hah! if we find it, the world is our! also...
either he played something terrible and shocking, but he did play it really good, or he played something romantic and utterly sweet, and played it really bad.
I bet on the first, judging from the face and reaction. But, your guess.

Thanks for the bonus content for the bonus strip, Tom. It really imrproves the strip.
Post-21 years later: Bwahahahah. That's twisting the knife.

Nineteen hours later:
My gods, the girl is so overwhelmed she had to leave the room to keep from jumping his bones!
That there's some mighty good pickin'!

Reading the strip and then the 4 follow ups in sequence is HILARIOUS.

Wait, twenty one years later she's dreaming the old scene, does this mean she's fond of the memory (and everything did go well well, eg. they're married with kids and all) or that she's fond of the memory and regrets that she did not take a step forward ?
noticing also that she cries. And smiles lightly.
Also: this bonus page alone is fine. The story told by it and the comment links combined is Awesome. congratulations on finding a new and entertaining way to deliver stories. it's gonna be popular if some other Webcomic artist sees it.

I take back anything mean I ever said about John (which, when I think about it, was absolutely nothing).
The man is a shiny golden GOD of finger-pickin' goodness. Clearly.

Margo looks pretty young for a 30-something year old. What's her secret?
Also: THIS IS ADORABLE.

Looking at 5:54 songs in my i-tunes listings I would say Least likely to charm Aisha : Death in Vegas (with Iggy Pop) Ride On : AC/DC Most likely When Doves Cry : Prince & the Revolution The Sea Calls : Richard Hawley Of course not being a 12 year old girl I'm likely way off-base here.

I really love these little extra sketches...they're so great.
The last one is unbelievably heartbreaking.

me too...i hope they finally got together and lived happily and the last sketch is just a memory, for that something not too tragical happened and she's reminiscing the old times.
If it's not important to the coming story, could you Tom please clarify the issue? if it's indeed important, tell us so, so in any case, we could be definitely happy, unhappy, or get our hopes up for the future. Please.

Maybe she misses his guitar playing skills. Tragically lost when Boxbot fell on John's hands, mangling them.

Noting also the ring, which is quite specifically on her left ring finger, I'd say things ended up pretty well.

It's cute that Tom thought up a mini-future for minor characters like that. He's just a big ole softie deep down, I bet. Er, underneath all those, uh, big muscles of his, of course.

So, did anyone make progress identifying the song? Please don't just list all the 5:54 songs that you happen to have--it ought to make sense in context. I tried " Prelude to a kiss" as an obvious choice, but it turns out that one is 5:26, so no cigar. I also ran a crude search, but was overwhelmed by the scale of the undertaking, so I didn't sift through the results. Perhaps the resonator guitar is a clue, and one should restrict the search to a specific genre. Keeping this in mind, Don't Know What You Got (Till It's Gone) is a possibility, though it's a bit old for these characters. Any others?
