Can someone correct me if I'm wrong, but there is yet to be a chapter set in winter? Going back through chapters in my mind I find myself unable to recall any scene happening outside in snowy weather, or any of the characters in warmer clothes. In fact pages 436 and few ahead would suggest winter yet no snow is present. Page 1167 is full of snow but who knows where Tea was at the time. Could it be that it never snows in Gunnerkrigg, or did no worthwhile plot happen whilst it was snowy.

It's a good question, honestly, and I don't think it's ever been fully answered. Time has always been pretty fuzzy in the comic, since the only time we really get information about what time of year it takes place is when it's approaching or shortly after summer break. There've been plenty of chapter where characters are wearing warm clothing, but we've never seen snow in GC, so it's pretty ambiguous whether winter snow has always just happened to take place in-between stories, or whether it just never snows in the Court, kind of like how there are no rats in the Court. Honestly, I don't get it either.
Fun fact: I live in San Fransisco, where it ACTUALLY never snows, so the lack of snow never registered as something unusual for me until very late in the comic, when I finally remembered this was supposed to be taking place in England. Kind of like how I always imagined everybody with an American accent at first.

Well, it just does not snow all that often in the UK, at least in the lowlands (which is where the Court would be, given that it's missing hills of any prominence). And what snow does fall, usually melts pretty quickly. The last time I remember snow staying on the ground for more than a few days, was in 2010 I think.

Would be cool to see some slice of life during snowtime. Just remembered this was a thing: www.gunnerkrigg.com/art/christmas.jpgMakes one wonder what are New Year celebrations like at the Court.

From Tom's Tumblr page(s). This 2012 wallpaper was a snowy scene. The original link to buy the wallpaper died some time ago. But it is available as a print.
As mentioned by Vuk(Wolf) , Page 1167 had Ice Tea.
Now I could use some hot chocolate!

I figured the Court just has a climate where it doesn't snow often, but it is a more interesting question since we know that Tony has been tracking the weather.
Hmm, would snow have the same effect on Zimmy as rain?

This flashback with Surma and Anja is pretty likely in winter. There's no snow, but they're bundled up and you can constantly see their breath. www.gunnerkrigg.com/?p=436Edit: sorry I didn't notice OP already mentioned this page in the post! My bad

We're currently in Quartzsite, AZ. I tried to find some reference to the city that also included the word "snow"... but I had to exclude "snowbird", because each winter several hundred thousand of us show up here in their RVs. (And we are somehow accommodated in a city with an official population of circa 3,000. I'm glad I don't have to do the urban planning.) That left one reference saying you won't see a snow shovel anywhere, and a bunch of descriptions of rocks.
Over the next week a few nights are actually going to get below freezing. This is unusual. The average overnight low for December is 38F, and for January 40F. However I would be quite amazed to see snow: the place is dry. Average precipitation for each of those months is 0.58 inches.
"Winter" does not necessarily mean "snow".
