Now I might just be crazy but it sure looks a lot like one of those gray figures has hair that goes up. And dare I say it? Another has hair that goes down.
I’m sure everything is fine.

Looks like the Annies are rejected from the forest due to Loup's bitterness? O.O

Yeah, has anyone seen those guys recently? Did they go back to the forest? Are they siding with Loup? They might have been carbon-copied, hence the ashy skins!

Looks like the Annies are rejected from the forest due to Loup's bitterness? O.O Nonono, This is a lot worse. It looks like I jumped the gun, there's unpleasant plot ahead but it wont be in a sudden revelation form and it probably wont be this chapter. Those are all the people of the Forest with nowhere to go. Everyone living under one roof.

If these are the fairies, then they have every reason to be angry. No doubt they heard from Red her version of events with Jeanne, and the location implies they have been expelled en masse. So yeah, bitter indeed. But "carbon copies" would be, erm, interesting. Would that make them a forest version of the nobodies, I wonder? Zimmy/Gamma could help with that. Oh, and they could also disappear one or both Annies in the process...

As ominous as it may look, there's a chance that this is just Loup giving the Annies exactly what they came to ask right? A group of wood-benders to help her reach the lake water.
This really feels like one of those page where reading as soon as they are published gives an entirely wrong impression. Having each page being a mini cliffhanger (Loup sending them to some unknown place, which just turned out to be the edge of the Forest, and now the people coming) greatly increases the tension.

He gave them every reason to be bitter, after all.

Those guys left the forest purposely to join the Court, why would they still have any contact? The figures look much more like the Anwyn to me, with the greyness just being Tom's artistic way of giving characters in the distance less detail until the Annies can see them more clearly.

In that case I might have misunderstood what you were trying to say. I took your "people of the forest" comment as "a separate species which is very much like humans". But you meant it as "actual humans left on the forest side after the divide", correct? Hmm, they weren't shown as particularly resentful in the Annie in the Forest miniseries. Even if we mostly saw their youngsters, whom you would expect to reflect the adults' attitudes somewhat uncritically anyway.

Sorry for not being clear, I was referring to things like the conflict at the beginning of the Court, and the culture shock that could be about to erupt like it did for Annie when she stayed there for the summer. Actually, while writing this I remembered that the forest folk tell children's tales about the scary Court robots, which thanks to the Court headcrabbing the ones that have been pulled from the shield, might well be really unnerving if they all come across to the Court and discover it's currently not far from the truth.

Actually, this might also be the case. The UP-hair, and DOWN-hair really jived with Red and Ayilu at first. But the bodies were a mismatch, as well as the clothes. But these guys, though...

Yeah, I'm throwing my hat in for forest folk. Maybe Loup is trying to pull a "be careful what you ask for" by sending them the forest building team... as well as all the other forest guys. A sorta "if you want em unfrozen so much, you can have em" deal. It'd explain introducing Idra last chapter, maybe she'll act as a kinda group representative plot-wise.

Just thought I'd take this occasion (Antimonies getting roughed up and ejected) to remark how different this comic could have been if not for Antimonies' etheric attractiveness and potential usefulness to powerful entities (Court admin, Coyote, 'pomps).

Here is an entirely different thought... Most of these folks look human... not fairies or Anwyn - so what if the "up-hair" guy is actually William Winsbury? That might make the whole crowd people from the Court, though why they would be here is unclear...

Up-haired guy, bald-looking guy and square-haired guy have pointy ears. Down-haired gal isn't clear but looks pointy too. Humans don't have those

Yeah, I was thinking much the same thing. Spitefully acquiescing to Annie's request in a way that causes even more trouble seems like it would be right up Loup's alley-way.

Panel 3 looks like it should result in one or two broken necks. Thank goodness for cartoon physics.
