Well done, Coyote, not in the slightest answering any question at all. And not in the slightest making a mentally-inestable god angy against two little girls...

I guess Loups quest for power will end up in getting him also a lot of responsibilities, which he probably wont like. Also, I wonder why he still doesnt know about the tooth - he did absorb all the mind bits from Coyote, and now some extra with the goose bone. Just where is the memory of the tooth hidden? I hope the tooth will not be used to kill Loup, but to separate the two entities again. Because try as you might, Loup still has quite upleasant personality. And that is coming from me

Is it just me or is there a weird disconnect in the dialogue between the last page and this one? Seems almost like a page was skipped or something.

I'm not sure Annies should be so happy about being mere playthings of the powerful. Even if they happen to favor Coyote over Loup.

The Annies seem to still be in good terms with Coyote, despite his confirmation that this all mess is his fault. I'm sure that being able to see him again, while learning that is definitely dead helps, but they aren't really known to cool-headed either (even if it's not directed at them, him coming back just to avoid giving meaningful answers is quite annoying). Is it just me or is there a weird disconnect in the dialogue between the last page and this one? Seems almost like a page was skipped or something. Loup was talking about getting back the ability to control the forest, and then said "once I get them" which is definitely confusing. It took me a while to understand why Loup was talking about them, when he already has one of the two gifts the Annies were meant to look for... But the third one is Rey's power.

Man even if he's definitely still a bad guy and this won't last forever, it is nice to have Coyote back for a bit. Also surprised we're being this transparent about the thing Loup saw being Kat (or something to do with her). We might actually be getting a reveal about that this chapter.

I bet fifty quatloos on Loup angrily learning that Coyote saying "when all my gifts are returned" did not just refer to the bone, water and body snatching power.

That's what I meant, but I'm probably not using "to tease [X]" properly there. If I understand correctly it only has the meaning "to poke fun at X" when X is someone, and otherwise should be understood as "to make a teaser about". "Tom is still teasing us about the possibility of a third Annie" would have worked better right?

Technically you were right both times with the usage, I just feel it's been a bit too deliberately heavy handed to count as teasing anymore.

Calling it now, he saw the ab-so-lu-te glORY OF THE MECHA-ANGEL GODDESS, KAT! Or the Tooth. Both? It's hard to say definitively, but it seems to me Coyote is playing on Loup's inferiority, to push him in a certain direction. It would be interesting, if the "mere children" remark pushed Loup to go after the Water himself, with the others in tow.

I bet fifty quatloos on Loup angrily learning that Coyote saying "when all my gifts are returned" did not just refer to the bone, water and body snatching power. Oh right, I didn't realize Coyote already made an implicit mention of the tooth. Ok, calling it, that's not Coyote, that's just a message. "Please consider what you might be able to do with my *wink* other *wink* gift" And back to Loup "Go get that lake water right now and don't try to keep it or use it against me or I swear I'll destroy you and your little dog !" I got the not really Coyote, *wink* and Coyote technically mentions the tooth without being explicit about it right. I'll go get my underbaked cookie (I got the "it's just a message" part wrong). Though, if Coyote was talking about the tooth, that would mean that the version of himself stored in the bone came with the memory of it. Which means that the memory of the tooth would be in the bone by definition (and Coyote did mention that there was a memory beside part of him in there). Maybe he made sure to exit from Loup's brain with that knowledge, therefore insuring that whoever would take his place might never come to know about the tooth?

"It's true that you'll be more than powerful enough to shape this world when all my gifts are returned."
Loup, you goddamn fool. When a trickster god speaks so plainly and specifically, it's always a trap.
"He must have been nearby whatever it was"

Im quite surprised how arrogant Loup is beign afetr kissing Coyotes ass for a whole chapter. That whole surprass even your own power thing seems so arrogant even from Loup.
The wording by Coyotes memento seems to imply that there might be a lesson in humilty for Loup to await, and he might not want to be actually brought back. He could want Loup to actually succeed him but not before getting his due slap in the rump

I feel like that would be a tad too malicious. If three Annies leave the forest, it would be a teaser. If two Annies leave, it might be teasing, but not a teaser.

I'm thinking about that "mere children" thing.
I write fanfics in another universe with lots of paranormal beings - two of my stories have a centaur as the central character, and we've got vampires in law enforcement, werewolves and dragons in construction, etc. There's this one particular character who is entirely human (and not a mage or in any other "special" category) and if some paranormal says "just a human" around him, they'll come to regret it...

Composition-wise, I appreciate just how small Loup looks next to Coyote on this page. It’s a great visual metaphor for his whole godly inferiority complex-thing.

Though, it does make sense with what Loup said before, about how Ysengrin loved Coyote for his power but thought Coyote wasn't using it enough. Loup intends to be what Coyote could have been (if he had no limits, say).

I also think that angle/representation of Loup ( at the top) looks like a young pup telling an older dog, "I'll be strong line you one day!"

Coy Boy Coyote refusing to directly confirm pretty much anything.
"You hid the ability to control the forest!" C:"Oh did I?" "And the Court is up to something!" C:"Oh are they?" "And you're dead!" C:"OH AM I" "And your gifts will give me more power!" C:"PROBABLY"
