It's rumbling tiiiiime!!!
Who wants to bet they've been shrunken down, and that's actually a normal sized person?

That blurb text got me.
Then again, Cvet seems to be quite sociable and she has been at the court for 6 months, give or take, so it is no wonder.

Annie's face in the second panel... Afterwards: "Oh thank god, a giant monster to fight I thought I'd have to listen to this all day!"

Since I now have saved the time to formulate that theory, I will instead remind all of you that it is funnier to look at Cvet gossiping when seeing her nostrils as a moustache.

Egad. Now it can't be unseen. On the plus side though, I'm now imagining Cvet with Vincent Price's voice. You're right. It makes the gossiping that much better.

Since I have nothing to add about this page (other than 'oh shit'), here's a factoid.
I worked in radio for a couple of years. Saying "Let's get ready to rumble" on air (with similar inflection) would incur a fine since it's copyrighted. It'd happen every year or so; the poor DJ would feel like crap. I found that fascinating.

Plot twist: the author note is actually Annie's exact thoughts in panel 2.

I find it hard to believe that Parley has much of an ear for that kind of gossip either, unless we see a completely different side of her to how she behaves with her other friends. Makes me wonder how she and Cvet connected.

I'm pretty sure that this is actually that guy himself. is this elgamore Isn't it always? I doubt Lisa, Anders, Steve, Ethan or Emma are actually important characters but I just realized that by carelessly gossiping, Cvet could have accidentially mentionned Annie's crush to her. If it had been Lisa "not ready to be in another relationship so soon", that would have been another way to interpret Annie's expression in the second panel.

At least one person predicted it. Now, I'm just imagining Cvet is a huge silly gossip, and loving it. Cvet: "I think she has a crush on that guy." Cvet: "Oh, are you talking about that girl. In the bathroom, she was bragging about deliberately wearing the same outfit as her." Cvet: "You'll never guess what I heard Paz say." Cvet: "Last night, I had to help George hide a body." Never trust an Orjak with a secret, or the location of your diary.

Does anyone remember Anders Loves Maria? That was a good comic. Shame the archives aren't viewable.

I'm really pulling for Lisa and Steve to get together. I think they'd be good for each other, they just have to get on the same wavelength! Does anyone remember Anders Loves Maria? That was a good comic. Shame the archives aren't viewable. I do! Man, it's a shame how many great webcomics have kind of become lost. Very few, when they finish, are able to be maintained indefinitely by their creators. The server shuts down and poof, lost to the ages/whatever got physically published. And the wayback machine - not great for images unfortunately.

Better watch out for Anders, he's a bit of a time bomb. Thank you for this! I wasted a bunch of time Googling "Gunnerkrigg Anders" thinking I had forgotten about a character. In reality my brain just got its wires crossed and I was really thinking about Anders from DA! Hahaha

So, the way the wayback machine works, is it intermittently snapshots any website it crawls, duplicating its html code locally. When it does this, it will try to identify images and store them locally too. This isn't consistent because, well, there's a million reasons: the images were hiding behind a mess of CSS, the web host blocked them directly, the job simply failed, etc. When it fails, it just lets the "src=" point to whatever it always pointed to. And sometimes, that source remains active well after the site goes down, either because the image was hosted elsewhere or because the server storing it is still running, despite the website being long gone. The rest of the time, you get broken images. Video is even worse. It rarely gets saved. Notably, the wayback machine has a very hard time interpreting dynamic web pages, which means as more and more of the internet becomes mobile friendly, less and less of it will be interpretable by the archive.
