After being isolated for so long it's probably pretty odd to be sharing headspace with two Antimonies.

Sharing the mind of two teenage girls must be... chaotic.

Sharing the mind of two teenage girls must be... chaotic. Being a teenager is in itself chaotic. I dont know about the girl side, but boy side was weird enough.
Good thing old Rey has two theoretically identical teenagers attached to him. Otherwise, strange would be a far away utopia in the permanent turmoil of chaos.
But I like this worldbuilding that is happening right now. I wonder the Annies can share their thoughts with eachother through Reynardine. Not that they want that all the time, but it might be possible.

I'm sure Rey is mighty thankful for that "expressly" filter. I've had plenty of roommates, that I'd rather not share thoughts with. Add teenager impulses and angst to the mix, and I'd imagine Rey going bald from the contract.
Or they could start a hive mind: "We are Annie. Your Etheric and personal distinctiveness will be added to our familiar contract. Resistance is futile."

I wonder... within the gunnerverse, has any other familiar ever served two, um, familiarees at once? Going by Skippy's reaction last chapter when he was confronted by the situation, I believe all signs point to yes. If one familiar has ever served two masters at the same time with a single-use(r) contract before is another question.

now that Rey is confirmed to be able to use some of their fire powers, it can be said the Annies and Rey's connection is being handled by...FIREFOX sorry if this joke has been made already

Oh no, in theory Rey will be able to learn who she has a crush on! We should watch for anyone he begins staring daggers at for no discernible reason.

Although it doesn't sound like it operates that way. The "they don't expressly want me to see" quote and the fact that they had to yell at him to get him to pay attention initially suggests that he doesn't hear everything - perhaps the default setting is to mute the teenage girl voices in his head. Now, if they were to accidentally leave an etheric microphone on, after a conversation is "over"...

Now, if they were to accidentally leave an etheric microphone on, after a conversation is "over"... I was under the impression that they were yelling mostly because they didn't know that normal inside voices would be enough (as brought up on the next page). But yeah from the Annies' end, on a scale ranging from "push to talk" to "voice activation" it does look like it's a lot closer to the former. As far as analogies go, at most I'm imagining it defaulting to a voice-activated system with the sensitivity turned way down, with it swapped out for push-to-talk whenever they consciously use it

But it does sound like they have to either Siri Rey or mentally "tap" somehow. I'm guessing if Annie gets a song stuck in her head, Rey doesn't suddenly get the urge to start singing along. Even if it would be funny. EDIT: Unless she "accidentally" opens a channel and starts mentally singing at him.

I'm pretty sure Annie keeps that info buried enough that it really won't come up. Unless Rey had to do a mind dive for some reason. Also, is it two- way? Can the Annies catch glimpses of Rey's mind?

I am suddenly reminded of that episode of "Steven Universe" where there are Pearls within Pearls within hyper-organized Pearl. Of course, OCD has never been a defining trait of Annie, so hopefully it wouldn't be like that. It would have to be two-way to a certain degree in order to have conversations. And he is their familiar, not the other way around... so maybe?

Why is Parley wearing ballet shoes? It's creeping me out. Creeping you out?? They look like old fashioned plimsoll type shoes to me, the kind I used to wear in PE class at school and you sometimes see dancers and martial artists wearing in older TV shows.

Well, I also thought those shoes did not look very...fitting with the uniform.
