Is Kat talking about the equipment or Annie's status? I think it's the first but not sure.

As always, every character who is not Antimony, gets off with a pat on the head.

What’s that you say? Gunnerkrigg Court is already so stock full of complex lingering plot threads and unanswered questions about important things that it can’t take another?

Since it's not their "department", Clippy and his boss could be talking out of their combined bureaucratic derriere. Asking the store clerk, assigned to the automotive aisle, whether a seal will work with your toilet, could get you a "Sure. That looks about right." Then, who's replacing a fortune in water-damaged Hello Kitty bathroom decor? You are. But, would Tom troll this way?
Now for Arthur, and...

maybe we are overthinking this? Maybe neither belong on this timeline because Courtnie is from an alternate timeline (imported by Loup to sub @court for time-delayed Frannie) and Frannie is from this timeline, but she's out of time-synch (lost some months delay in the forest) so she doesnt belong *as she is* (with the offset time-stamp)? I dunno... in some ways this scenario is simpler than some others that have been suggested, but it is still somewhat unsatisfying... Both Annies are real, tho Frannie is (sort of) our Annie (tho now time-shifted). No need for 3, just one import (Courtnie).

I don't know what to think about these two. On one hand, I don't like them much so I wouldn't mind not seeing them again. On the other hand, having seemingly all powerful character just show up that late in the comic, without foreshadowing or any kind or backstory, and just long enough to change the direction of the plot(s) really feels like a patch.
It's not like we had known about the RoTD long before they met the friendly vampire, but there was a flashback that explained how the situation came to be what it is, and what the motivations of the RoTD were. Here, I basically have no idea what Clippy and Saslamel do or want beyond fixing the very specific plot points they interracted with :/
Also I mentioned earlier that the contract bit was too goofy to be a real plot point IMHO, another argument against the contract being very significant is that it seems very late in the comic to load a new Chekhov's gun.

I enjoy how Clippy's positioning makes it look like the Arbiter's eyes are glowing in panel 3 as he vanishes.

Well, at least the robot plotline is finally moving forward.
Plot twist: The thing in the robot sarcophagus is actually a Third Annie.
(With Kat checking and re-checking her notes, saying "this can't be possible!")

Is Arthur like, sealed in a cocoon in there? Or maybe his new body is just wearing clothes.

Is Arthur like, sealed in a cocoon in there? Or maybe his new body is just wearing clothes. Any clothes that's not waterproof would be soaked in there. Or maybe that's some non wet gas going on there but from what I little know of physics, for it to be visible it would have to be a) liquid at room temperature; b) made of particles like smoke; or c) extremely cold. Since Arthur's new body is close to human I doubt b and c but who knows. He could be wearing a Tyvek coverall or Kat made some waterproof elegant suit for him to meet Juliette in decent clothing

I hope it's something like that and not a case of the long-haired Annie being also an "outsider".

maybe we are overthinking this? Nah. This is timeline stuff. Overthinking is the only thing you can do with it. And Tom introduced it, so we are even supposed to do it!
