Ahaha, I love Annie's miffed appearance. That guy...
Very prompt, Yin!

It's Boxbot being terrible. It's hard not to be prompt with that.
I'll say it again:
Nobody likes Boxbot.
NOBODY.

Not even boxbot.

One day we're going to find him shorted out in a bucket of water with a suicide note encoded in his voice chip lying on the ground nearby. Everyone who listens to it will agree that it was the worst suicide note ever put into words. Even in death, Boxbot will be terrible.

i wonder what would happen if you put him in his original? would he get worse, so NEGATIVE people like him, or would it make him good enough that one person likes him?

Why does everyone bash boxbot ?
I can't say he's my favourite character, but if you compare him to that sleazy robot who tries to put his communicator into Annie's communication port... *frowns* and what about his dumb colleague who believes Annie when she says that her tiara is really her antenna, which all robots have ??
Boxbot is a bit stupid and clumsy, but he does the best he can, no ? In that respect, I respect him *grin*

Makes you wonder, just how bad must he be to get a reaction like that from Annie even! Poor guy.

Tom once said, he will never appear in the comic. Yet Tom is ALL OVER THIS PAGE. I don't understand what's wrong about Boxbot. Or to be precise: I don't understand how people can hate anything / anyone in the first place.

Why does everyone bash boxbot ? I think, they just haven't found a job for him, where he would be real useful. E.g. he might be perfect for retrieving things that fell under the bed, behind furniture etc., or for watching and hunting mice :-) Also, lots of questions from this chapter are still unanswered, e.g. * how did Surma and Mrs. Donlan get at that cellar ? * what was S13 doing before he was disassembled into "no spare parts" ?

here is my little GC meets a softer worldIf I knew how to do alt text, it would say, either "which is why we keep hiding his report card" or "maybe he could try failing at being hated?"

I now predict that very near the end of GC is going to be Boxbot who SAVES THE DAY
although, probably nobody will see him, so it won't matter anyway

Tom has rendered my old fanart of boxbot obsolete with panel 5 of this strip. Maybe boxbot can star in a show of Tool Time with Tim "the Tool Man" Tailor. Since you mention it, boxbot could use more power...

Tenjen, I think you have come up with possibly the best episode of anything ever. Email NBC (or someone, anyone really) right now - I suggest you name the email 'Home Improvement Reunion Special In Which They Are All Miles Older And Also There Is A Boxbot"
It's a winner!

I want a Boxbot!
I wonder if Tom hated WALL-E because that was basically Boxbot: The Movie.

this may be old news, but ive always wanted to say that boxbot might be terrible, but he is trying very hard to help; and i like him for that.
i think i might try to solve this by giving him a job that would require his perpetually periodic attention. once a day for 6-10 hours, for example.
give him 2 or 3 of these jobs and he will almost always have no time to try to help where hes not wanted, but still be quite useful and hopefully appreciated.
