I really want an after-afterscene now to show the sweat rolling down Rey's brow while Cvet walks away, while he tries to side-eye to see if she's already gone back inside.

So, I guess Paz is satisfied? Although, a thumbs up could also mean " the loser should be stabbed upward." I also like the look between Cvet and Rey. I wonder what, if anything, they're saying. "So what are you supposed to be?" "I'm actually a fox spirit trapped in a stuffed doll. It's complicated." EDIT: I suppose it could be bad if Cvet is closely related to Sivo. "So, um.... possess any good bodies lately?" Might be, but Reynardine bested Sivo in a fight, and I have a feeling that Orjaks respect that. Hey, I think I was right.

I'm betting, Cvet had it all built up in their head. With dramatic Avengers-like music, playing in the background, and at least one transformation scene from Renard. Instead- Renard: "No thanks. I prefer quiet self-reflection. After all, isn't the internal struggle between 'who we are' and 'who we want to be' the most dramatic fight of all?" Cvet:" ... No. ... Just n- no."

And here I was hoping for the opposite...ie, C'vet sweating and trying to see if Reynard is getting ready to attack as she walks away.....

Hey, I think I was right. So you were. You deserve that half cookie. Of course, it would have been unrealistic to not even mention Sivo. And the "showdown" made it as far as "you wanna rassle?" before getting shot down by Rey... ( and by the author, who isn't writing a shonen fight manga, and probably doesn't have time to waste pages on that sort of thing...) *shrug* Maybe Orjack honor code required Cvet to at least challenge Rey, and that was satisfied by "taking it outside." (The lights are still on inside, so did Rey leave early or is he on watchdog duty?)

Is it just me or does Cvet's mouth look a bit duck-like? As if there was a beak under her skin? Fixed that for you.

Something I've been wondering... did we ever get details on this fight between Renard and Sivo? I can't imagine what a physical fight would look like. Was it some kind of mental or etheric fight?

He was probably wearing a human body at the time and that's all we know about it. Can a human beat an Orjak? I think that's the way their work partnership starts and that's why they're called "dragonslayers", considering Cvet's reaction to Sivo's death I believe Orjaks do respect strength and only bond with someone stronger or matching them in a fight

I wonder what Daniel's special ability was. Although Renard might have taken the body of another, stronger non-human creature (maybe a robot?) in between.

If he defeated Sivo while controlling a Boxbot body, Rey is more badass than anyone ever thought.

I wonder what Daniel's special ability was. Although Renard might have taken the body of another, stronger non-human creature (maybe a robot?) in between. The Renard-possession fiasco is one thing I've always wondered about the most when it comes to the older generation in GC (along with able-bodied Ysengrin and his "army", but never mind that now).
In his original fox form, we know Renard is a legendary trickster by nature (so perhaps not as likely to get caught in a direct, fair, fight) and a pretty powerful magic-user too (at the very least, he can fly with no big effort). When it comes to Sivo, it's probably worth pointing out that being giant is not necessarily an advantage when it comes to fighting in the ultra-urban environment of the Court - so many cramped, tight spaces all over, that little humans can scurry around in. From a fighting trope standpoint, Sivo vs. Renard in an urban battleground (with lots of magical & scientific hazards potentially hidden in various buildings) is pretty a one-sided battle in favor of Renard. The big guy clumsily destroys things while the little guy runs around and tricks the big one into trapping himself - it's in all the cartoons! ...Yes, ok, this would 't exactly be Tom's style, but this is my imagination and I can do whatever I want with it. Maybe there were some loud explosions and machine guns and martial arts battles too. You never know!
It honestly had never occurred to me that Danny could have had a special ability of his own, or that Renard could have used it while possessing him! All we know about the poor guy was that he was justa fried of Surma's, taking a survey in a nice business suit in the Forest when he...
Wait, was he was just wandering around Gillitie Forest taking a survey? By himself? With no extra protection from dangerous animals? ...how tough WAS this guy?
