Cookies to everyone who said Cvet was an orjak! I still have no idea how so many people worked out that it was an orjak on Monday, but serious cookies to those who did!

I guess she would just barely fit through the doors in the air raid shelter.

I never saw the show, but I believe Tom has mentioned being a fan of Gargoyles, and given the poses in panels one and five, I can't help but wonder if this is (the first part of?) his homage to it. Edit: Apparently not.

Oh, OK, well, that explains everything. Chapter over, we can all go home now....
except I expect the Annies still need to vent, there's still Loup and his treasure hunt, there are still one too many Annies, and what the heck was the deal with the ashray???

So Parley did send a creature that is not immune to fire to fight the Annies until they start working together. Just in case the fire from one Annie isn't dangerous enough make sure you get targeted by both at once.

I don't like how they brush the Ashray attack off as if it were nothing... Annie(s) could have died there...
Also, they sent a creature who isn't fireproof against the Annies?! What were they thinking?!
Were everybody always that careless?

I don't like how they brush the Ashray attack off as if it were nothing... Annie(s) could have died there... Or been disfigured permanently, as contact with an ashray might do. Also, they sent a creature who isn't fireproof against the Annies?! What were they thinking?! Were everybody always that careless? That's what I really don't like. Not entirely sure but there may be a two-tier set of values here. The air raid shelter has wider than normal doors because of the need to bring equipment in and out but it would have been tight and hard to maneuver in. Can't fly either. If they worry about humans getting burned why not Cvet? Cvet was supposed to present herself as some sort of threat so that the Antimonies would have to work together... I guess availability trumps suitability?

Maybe not immune to fire but so strong compared to Annie that it wouldn't matter? Like a "your attack did 1 damage" situation in an RPG where you go to the wrong neighborhood.
Also I like how someone already noticed the slav squat. I was hoping I could point it out.

And that means that all of the fan theories were correct this time around. x2 and what the heck was the deal with the ashray??? It arrived to a party it was not invited to, as it was not part of the Scooby Gang's plan for the Twankies to fall down the hole caused by the creature. What remains to be seen is if the ash tray was just dwelling there - having made the derelict installations its habitat - and followed Loup's WhatsApp plant out of simple curiosity, or if it was purposely guided there as part of Loup's Merry Melodies, with the plant acting as a beacon.

So Cvet thinks as well that the ashray was attacking. Hm. Then I guess it really did.

I guess availability trumps suitability? Or more likely cvet wasnt going to provoke them to an attack. She was going to appear, be all cryptic, misdirect them with illusions or something... The Annie's, even now, wouldn't open with a Firestorm. She might not have been endangered by the fire either. You can be pretty much immune to fire and still find a drawn out fight annoying.

I never saw the show, but I believe Tom has mentioned being a fan of Gargoyles, and given the poses in panels one and five, I can't help but wonder if this is (the first part of?) his homage to it. I hadn't known that, though I was delighted to hear that; I'd enjoyed it as well. (That did remind me, though, of my earlier remark about how Loup's encounter with the Court's force field reminded me of Oberon's attack on the Eyrie Building in that series.)

What were they thinking?! Were everybody always that careless? I'm hoping we'll get an explanation before the end of the chapter for those questions. Then again, a lot of the Court's strategies and actions throughout the comic suggest that carelessness has been a big problem there for a long time, among the adults as much as the children.

I probably should state I'm not 100% on that, it's one of those things that might have been said in an interview (meaning I'd have to dig through quite a few of them) or from a second/third hand source so take it with a grain of salt, but it fits.

I wouldn't doubt it. I loved that show. It was ahead of its time. There's still not many animations like it, and the ones that are, are awesome as well. If memory serves me, anyone looking into it may want to skip the final "Goliath Chronicles" season. In the end, it moved from syndication to Saturday mornings, and was "cartoonified". Oh, executive meddling.

Cookies to everyone who said Cvet was an orjak! Maybe Parley has a Rogat Orjak now? I think you are absolutely right. Slavic name and accent, location on a rooftop, on first-name basis with Parley. Fits perfectly. And my headcanon is: Cvet's a girl. That is to say, a young female Orjak.
I'll have a couple cookies, thank you very much!

Isn't it rude to stroke your coworker on the face as you're introducing them? Cvet's expression seems a little like "Um, excuse me?" ...Then again, I guess this is the same person who was always invading Smitty's personal space...
