On a not-really-related note, I'm very excited for the next chapter to begin on Monday. I expect a lot of emotion from the friends and family of Annie who likely believed she was dead for months. Oh, and to figure out *exactly* how much time has passed - it's totally possible Loup fudged the dates.

Oh, and to figure out *exactly* how much time has passed - it's totally possible Loup fudged the dates. Good point on fudging of the dates, as Loup is reliably unreliable. Several months is interesting enough, but a few years with everyone-but-Annie growing older would be fascinating. |

I don't think that her death has been faked anymore, wouldn't Rey realise that his 'contract' hadn't been lifted?
Guessing either Loup's made them think she's abandoned them for good, which the Court may or may not believe, or that they've been told "she's now a hostage and please stop looking for her or she dies."

I'm hoping it won't be a time skip on the scale of years; that would only make it more of a "hold-up", delaying the questions of how to handle Loup, whether giving him what he wants is a good idea or not, what the Court is up to that endangers the Forest and has resulted in these attacks from Loup and other inhabitants of Gilltie Wood, etc. in order to discuss what went on for those years. |
