Hahahahahahaha! I wonder if he did it on a particular place on purpose, perhaps destroying some important infrastructure.

Also, does this mean he put Jones in a geostationary orbit?

Jones will be fine, but wherever she's landing might have a problem.

Also, does this mean he put Jones in a geostationary orbit? It means Loups plays Kerbals on cheat-codes. No way he could deorbit her this quickly.

Just a thought... Jones has probably walked across the sea floor before. Her immense strength and immunity to pressure make such an effort nothing for her. Also she’s probably been to the moon. If not, she could do. I don’t know how much GKC scientists are into space travel and/or are into telling Jones what to do, but those two things could easily combine into a fascinating research effort.
This chapter has had a weirdly comedic vibe for one that should be a permanent game changer for the comic. Not complaining though - if this chapter had been darker and more serious, it probably wouldn’t have been an improvement in my eyes.

She'll be fine, but she probably is gonna need a new uniform.
She got some mud on it earlier and I think being in space for a few months would mean bad stains.

Looks like she didn't have to pass through the shield to land, there aren't any of purple lighting effects from before. Is she just coming down on the far side of the bubble, far deeper into the court, or is the shield just not there anymore?

I really don't understand. Does Annie's body not require food and drink while she's in the ether? I don't remember that ever mentioned in the comic. Although if she's not eating or drinking, it clears up the matter of her ever having to go to the bathroom.

That was at least nice of Loup to pull her back somewhat close. He could have conceivably dumped her anywhere, but I guess he needed to remind Annie that he's super triple powerful (and prove he wasn't tricking her...UNLESS HE IS AND THAT'S NOT JONES )

The Court's interested enough in space to meet with the Bunny Girl. Though, I always got the feeling that she was "ethericly" from the Moon, but it's hardly made clear. Either way, I think you're right. If the Court didn't load Jones into a gun, during early aeronautic days, and blast into her suborbit, they weren't doing their jobs.

It’s possible Loup could’ve manipulated her body to not require sustenance during that time. He’s a god after all. Obviously he left the hair growth just to troll her, though.

OK so I'm trying to calculate approximately how long Annie is gone (why Tom went for hair-growth realism and not any other sort of temporal realism in this chapter I don't know, but I'll run with it). Annie's hair was just past shoulder length before putting it up and going into the forest. Now it is about at mid-back, at about her waist. Speaking for myself, growing my hair that much took me a whole damn year, but Annie being a fire elemental might mean her hair grows a bit faster. The average rate for people is .5 inches per month. Annie is a bit short, so her total height might be, say 5 feet or 60 inches. But even then, any way you slice it, the distance between her shoulder blades and her waist must be a good 6 to 8 inches. Given a normal growth rate (6/0.5), she had to have been in the ether for at least 12 months! If Annie's hair is suitably magical and grows twice as fast, she'd still be in the ether for at least six months. So ––– well. It is very possible her friends and family think she is dead.

Personally, I would love to find out that Loup has replaced Annie with a look alike that acts SO unlike her that everyone knows it isn't her and just sigh as Not-Annie, once again, runs into a lamppost while laughing like a Muppet.

Also she’s probably been to the moon. If not, she could do. I've seen nothing to indicate that launching or steering would be easier for her than for anyone else. She'd save on life-support equipment and landing apparatus, though. I really don't understand. Does Annie's body not require food and drink while she's in the ether? I don't remember that ever mentioned in the comic. Although if she's not eating or drinking, it clears up the matter of her ever having to go to the bathroom. Loup caused time to flow at a different (much slower) rate around himself and Annie than around everyone else. She has only been there an hour or two, while she's been absent from the Court for months. I don't know how widespread the time effect was. Possibly the Court was able to observe some (or all) of the Forest not going through its normal seasonal changes in parallel to plants elsewhere... (The hair growth is her etheric and fire aspects reasserting themselves magically, particularly when she's angry.) I still wonder about the significance of Loup not asking for the return of the Tooth.

I was initially puzzled by the lack of a force field when Jones staged her re-entry, but remembered that she had been keyed to pass through.
Since only an hour or has passed from Annie's perspective, I assume her hair growth is down to etheric rage elemental.
Eglamore is now sporting a piratical beard.

Oh wow, that 2nd panel is the best panel Tom has ever drawn. You can clearly see how Tom has been improving as an artist over the years.
