He's still not aware of the Tooth. Even if Annie returns the water and the bone, he'll be mighty pissed when he notices he's STILL not complete...

Sometimes there's a 1-2min lag between when posts are made and Proboards actually shows them. And I think this has happened before, wasn't that how that one guy with a new account briefly wound up with a post count of -1?

Now now, Annie. You and I both know that the matter of WHY he wants these items is the most important thing to consider here.

Ps and Qs, alongside free-expression. Users, gracious yet disagreeing. This forum is the best... when it is. I suppose the liquid and bone could be 'red herrings', but if one contains the memory of the Tooth, it would be very troublesome to give one to Loup. I still wonder, if they're in one of Coyote's schemes, and Loup is playing out an unknown script. In possession of Coyote's 'gifts', meaningful or not, the Court must play their part, as well.

Now now, Annie. You and I both know that the matter of WHY he wants these items is the most important thing to consider here. I don't think Annie has that many options here. Loup lacks the nobler side of Ysengrin that she was expecting to reach out to, seems too mad to negotiate with under normal circumstances, and is probably unstoppable by any weaponry the Court has. (Admittedly, Annie's wound up seeming more concerned about Ysengrin than about the Court since this conversation - it's almost as if, in her eyes, Loup's real offence was to mock and tear down Ysengrin rather than to endanger the Court - which might raise some questions about where her loyalties lie.) More importantly, I think that the "Chekhov's Gun" principle is at work here; Coyote's gifts to Parley and Smith have to have some role in the story, Loup has announced what they are, and that obviously has to be pursued. (This is from the storytelling angle, of course, rather than from the "in-story" perspective.)

Harsh! But true. She cares a lot about her own friends, in both the Forest and the Court, but ever since learning about Diego and Jeanne, she hasn't cared that much for the Court as a whole (as Coyote once noticed). I'm sure that intellectually she knows she has to save all the people who live there from this danger, but emotionally it's probably a lot easier to get protective over Ysengrin than the Court.

I didn't see it see it myself but apparently someone happened to look at his post count down in the newly-decapitated thread and posted a question about it in the same thread; I think his exact words were, "How do you get a post count of -1?" Sad to say the dude had already made a couple posts in another thread before he noticed the "dafuk?" posts. By the time I returned to the thread a day or so later his count was up to 3. He didn't go by the name 'Calvin Klein', did he?... Not sure if joking but I think the name was one word, not too many syllables. Pretty sure he didn't stick around long (apologies if you're still here on the forum and I have maligned your valor).

Possibly-important point:
Loup has asked for the return of the water and the bone.
And he has asked for, in effect, the return of Reynardine.
As far as I can find, he hasn't asked for the return of the tooth.
Speculation: is the tooth sharp enough to cut Loup in two, restoring Coyote and Ysengrin to their separate existence?

Maybe someone needs to remind her about Kat. (It probably couldn't have helped that Annie spent her early years growing up at the hospital mostly among the Guides, with her parents as the only humans she spent much time with.)

I'm sure that intellectually she knows she has to save all the people who live there from this danger, but emotionally it's probably a lot easier to get protective over Ysengrin than the Court. She saw the robots successfully defend the Court from Loup's original attack. Loup showed her something that he claims is the same kind of defensive shield, and he claims he could easily crush. Is there any particular reason she should believe him on both of those counts simultaneously?

I think Loup has been fooled by Coyote. The water and goose bone are probably insignificant, deliberately given away to tease the creature Ysengrin would become if he rose against Coyote. Please, don't encourage the Ysengrin/Annie shippers.
