Indeed they are.It seems that Seraph is the key to activating the other bots' programming.

This makes me wonder how much of this (both the fight and the muttering about Jeanne) was S1's doing and how much was S13's.

Awesome though it may be (scripted or not), this chapter i really making me antsy to see it to its end. without the presence of any sorta drive system, i would think that most of the robots pretty much coulda moved if they wanted to. just that they had no reason to do so. just when the script was played that they decided to do so. This makes me wonder how much of this (both the fight and the muttering about Jeanne) was S1's doing and how much was S13's. My guess is that they put s13 back in mouse-bot, and he has a hangover.

Now what price may be hiding behind Door "D"? I think the play isn't over yet (I think the applauding robots are not an audience, but part of the play, too).

I'm now thinking that maybe D stands for death and the play continues with a metaphorical journey into the underworld to visit/bring back Jeanne. Someone has probably suggested that before.

OK, we got a dead bullbot, lots of applause and a big door. So ... what's next?

wait.... the little arch annie and kat are near also has a "D" on it As do some of the robots. (On page 418, it's on the side of the robot's head in panel 2, and the back of the robot's hand in panel 4.)

Is it just me, or does one of the robots from panel 4 have the face of the ghost in the chasm between the Court and Gillitie? (I'm sure she has a shorter name...)
Too out there?

Looks like just a robot's face to me.
They were both pretty impassive, that might be what led you to that conclusion.

I tend to wonder, on another note, where the CPUs for the other robots are, and if those would have started up the play had they been put in their proper bot.

Wait, I just had a thought. The bull-robot climbed up out of somewhere, and now robot-robot is stood in front of a door. The dragon guarding the castle in a way.

Well, we will find out anyway in about 11 hours. That or Tom keeps us guessing all next week, too.

Also, unless this chapter wraps up rather abruptly on Monday or Wednesday, it will become the longest chapter so far in the story (this page was page 33 of Chapter 18, while Chapter 14 - The Fangs of Summertime - went 35 pages). Significant, or is Tom just moving to longer and longer chapters as the story progresses?

Significant, or is Tom just moving to longer and longer chapters as the story progresses? I've seen that happening with a lot of online comics. Just as Tom's art and style has evolved since chapter one, so did his plot weaving and storytelling abilities. And yes, GC's important chapters tend to be longer. etc.
