My first thought were those exact panels. I'm imagining Loup will make a splash, so to speak. Annie's never had to deal with such a thing. I wonder if it will cause here lingering damage for a period of time. |

Loup will probably "douse" her in some way, likely by suppressing her elemental side. I suppose he could outright remove it (or at least suppress it then claim he removed it) which maybe would release her from the psychopomps, depending on why they really wanted Annie. But her elemental side is the only tie she really has to belonging with the Forest (and Coyote and Ysengrin) so I don't think Loup would be interested in that option. I'm sure he would threaten it, though.

No, I see something too! We can see her palms on this page and the gloves have no lines on the palms. Compare with this image below: I do dare speculate she is holding the Tooth in its original form, but it doesn't look much like the Tooth at all. Is it some sort of explodey device, or an attachey device? She has an open-palm position so it doesn't seem like a sword-y type weapon, unless it's the Tooth expanding... Ugh. I really can't tell. This is gonna bother me for two whole days. It's like roughly the size of a blinker stone right now? But we also didn't see her pull this out from anywhere, she just went from a turned back to Flaming Angry. Any other/better guesses? Attachments:

Will she be able to contain it? ...where is that from? Another webcomic called Avas Demon, also involving a red haired protagonist who makes a pact with a fire controlling demon spirit thing. It's a very good comic, but with much slower pacing and update schedule compared to Gunnerkrigg. |

I don't think we can say that Loup planned/wanted/expected this. He clearly looks surprised at the top of this page. But then he sees a way that he can turn this development to his advantage (or amusement or whatever), which Can't Be Good™. And we know we're coming up on a two-week break, so I imagine things are about to go south in a spectacular way. My speculation: having learned previously that you are what you eat, this Big Bad Wolf is going to try swallowing up Red Riding Hood Hair. I have absolutely no idea what will happen after that. |
