It also rains in The Torn Sea. How Jack could know it would rain after destroying the last Ether syphon I still don't know. As well as I still don't know what the hell Lindsay was thinking, letting meter long glass shards fall onto the students inside the ship. |

I guess Jones is a "neutral party" (or so she projects herself; doubt the forest sees her that way), so maybe you're right... they don't need to reply with the Court symbol since they're coming over in a different capacity. Also the last time we saw Jones in the forest, she didn't exactly announce her arrival beforehand, either. I wonder if C/Y can feel them coming since they're walking on those tree roots.  Edit: Now that I'm re-reading this, I want to know the story here (panel 6) so badly! I wonder if ( AKA hope) it will come up again. |

Smitts should be coming too (or preparing to) and signaling back... unless the Court intends to ignore the request, which would seem unwise. |

The Court might indeed intend not to meet with Ysengrin, out of the suspicion that, based on how things were going, this is less a genuine desire to negotiate, and more a way to issue an ultimatum or a demand for unconditional surrender (or, at the least, the dismantling of things like the power plant and the Omega Device). Not to mention a tone of "meeting with him will confer undeserved dignity upon a mere talking animal". Unwise, indeed, but then, many of the other things the Court has done also seem unwise. |
