Oh, Jones, Jones. "I can't tell you what you want to know and I don't have any opinions. Instead, I'll tell you something that I would not have told you if you'd asked me about it directly. And I'll throw in my opinion about it."

And now we know what does Jones do, when she does not know what to do with her hands. . . . She crushes rock.

Nice, we get to see the bridge that was made on the Forest's terms. Stone replaced by wood. That is Ys' big dream after all

Is Jones exercising or why does she needlessly roll crushed wall parts away?

Is Jones exercising or why does she needlessly roll crushed wall parts away? Fidgeting... As possibly the Etheric embodiment of Earth, brushing off dandruff? From that last panel, Annie has been reading the forums. Wow, I hope she ignored some things she read.

No mention made of Jones' earlier request that Annie come back to her when she'd learned more about Jeanne, which got such discussion here. Though it certainly seems in character for Jones not to bring it up.

This is why I freaking love Jones. You won't be getting any easy answers from her, no-sirree. And now we know what does Jones do, when she does not know what to do with her hands.....She crushes rock. Is Jones exercising or why does she needlessly roll crushed wall parts away? Fidgeting... It's interesting to see Jones this way; she almost seems... nervous. I think she gets uncomfortable whenever someone challenges her supposed neutrality.

Jones, if Annie agreed that what you think has no importance, she wouldn't have asked.

You know what we haven't heard yet (that I remember)? Whether anyone died. We saw a lot of people on page 1968 whose statuses have not yet been confirmed...

*sees Tom's twitter* Why is he explaining Jones going through the shield? *reads main page comments* Oh.
not to be a snot about it but I thought it was pretty self evident what was going on. Then again, I was also one of the Reasonable Gunnerkrigg Readers that didn't know Winsbury and Janet's relationship was still a secret.

Jones, how can you have spent so long observing humanity and still be such shit at basic social interaction? *sees Tom's twitter* Why is he explaining Jones going through the shield? *reads main page comments* Oh. not to be a snot about it but I thought it was pretty self evident what was going on. Then again, I was also one of the Reasonable Gunnerkrigg Readers that didn't know Winsbury and Janet's relationship was still a secret. I didn't get it until I went to the comments either- it looks more like butterfly-wings than someone stepping through a barrier IMO. I think it's one of those things that is either blatantly obvious or completely nonsensical, depending on what your mind is thinking about when you read the comic.

You know what we haven't heard yet (that I remember)? Whether anyone died. We saw a lot of people on page 1968 whose statuses have not yet been confirmed... I hope that no one's died. If there had been deaths, the decent thing for the comic to do would be to acknowledge those deaths (at least briefly) at the start of the chapter. But there's no mention of that; all the focus is on the problems of the characters who we know are still alive. I'm hoping that Tom's not taking the route of "some people were killed, but they were minor characters or mere extras whom Annie and Kat seldom, or never, interact with, so we'll ignore their deaths"; I think he's better than that.

I think it's one of those things that is either blatantly obvious or completely nonsensical, depending on what your mind is thinking about when you read the comic. I barely even noticed it; my focus was on what Annie and Jones were saying. Perhaps Tom should have explained about it in the footnote for the page from the start (he did explain about it on twitter, later). I do think that if we're busy thinking more about "what's that pink stuff?" than about Annie and Jones' words here, something's wrong. But what's done is done.

Also, it's very possible nobody did actually die in Ys tree attack. Nobody besides Bob and Marcia live in the park, and the court is so large those other seeds could have been stashed in that building because it was being used as storage in a relatively empty area.

Tony said that casualty is under way and that reports of injury are minimal. So, if anyone has died, they are still buried under the rubble and have not yet been found

And we should consider this is being told mostly from Annie's perspective so we wouldn't know of the deaths until she or someone close knows

Is it that it is not important what Jones thinks, or is it that Jones knows something Annie doesn't about what happens when souls are returned to the Ether?... Like on some level, being just recycled seems sort of uncool. Though I know that's what happens to us materially, anyway, and I guess I'm OK with that. My mom likes to say she wants to be made into compost.
