I suppose it's better to move people away from the border since there's plenty of housing. Hopefully they'll put people into defensible pockets near evac routes.

initial attack?
(....)once the border?
How much time has elapsed? How many attacks happened? Where is the border now? Am I asking too many questions?

Ooh, yeah, it is reminiscent of the beginning.

Microsat 5 was narrated in the present tense (Annie being a bit stunned to hear from her Father) The historical form hasn't been used since the start of Volume 2 (Red Returns).
Does this mean Annie gets digs back with the gang?
Do feral packs of Seraphs now roam the borders, battling with insurgent tree hounds?
Did the Court respond to the Forest overture, or did they leave it to Rey?

It's either this one or one more dealing with the fallout from the decisions/revelations of this chapter as well as the changes with the forest. Either way we aren't far off.

Next up: Tree zombies. The stage is perfectly set for that kind of thing. Okay, the robots standing around everywhere being badass and whatnot is new, but this is Gunnerkrigg Court we are talking about...

Apologies if this has already been mentioned, but does anything about the post-apocalyptic-looking landscape feel reminiscent of those bonus pages featuring Tea for anyone else?

This is exactly what I was thinking. Although whether that's leading us into that apocalypse timeline or just Tom's general art style I can't say.

initial attack? (....) once the border? How much time has elapsed? How many attacks happened? Where is the border now? Am I asking too many questions? These are all good questions, especially since the word initial implies that there have been more attacks since the first. Something tells me there's been a time skip of at least a few months. Hopefully Annie has all of her hair back!

I'm glad to see Annie's narration returning; it had dropped out of the comic since the middle of Chapter Fifteen. (Apart from a brief resurfacing during the Microsat chapter, and that was closer to "at-the-time internal monologue".) I'd missed that element, though since several of the chapters since then had focused on the points of view of characters other than Annie (ranging from Kat to Reynardine to Sky Watcher), it made sense to discontinue it.
I'm a bit surprised by the subject matter of this page. From the way the last chapter ended, I was expecting something about the demand from the forest for a new meeting. Presumably that'll be addressed in the next few pages.
Also, it seems that the evacuation is more "moving people into the parts of the Court further away from the Forest" rather than "moving them out of the Court altogether". Though the chapter's just starting.

I doubt we'll get any answer on the Court's physical nature, but maybe we'll get another clue or two. Is the Court in its own pocket dimension? Did the Seed Bismuth just make the Court bigger on the inside than on the outside?
I guessing that the story will be more about the character's dealing with all the upheaval. We can only imagine how Tony's managing all the change.

I'm glad Annie's granddaughter has taken up the narration for this "dark alternate timeline which gets undone/abandoned in the end" plotline.
It is not actually that

The return of Annie's narration! I might be wrong, but I don't think we've seen this since Microsat 5.

The Court would probably consider the first tree-bomb to be the initial attack. Since the alarm at the bridge didn't sound they probably learned about the bridge and school much later and the bridge is neutral-ish territory anyway. Not sure but Antimony split a little while before the school building itself was attacked and she might not have been able to distinguish the vibration from the bridge collapsing from stuff happening elsewhere so she may not even know about the damage to the school itself yet. She may not have seen the first tree erupt but she should have been able to hear it attacking while she was relocating to her dorm. So maybe she means the bridge but more likely the first tree-bomb thing. once the border? Where is the border now? My suspicion is that we're not talking about a political redefinition of the border but the theoretical boundary from which Ys can easily launch attacks. How much time has elapsed? How many attacks happened? The sun was setting last chapter so it's been at least nine hours, roughly. The trees should have thrown up a bunch of dust and it may be overcast so we can probably tack a couple more hours on. I see no rescue teams going over the rubble; that may mean that they haven't been there yet (which might be consistent with +9 to +11hrs) or that they've been over and finished searching. In the latter case it's been three days or more but I think I'll guess about ten hours have passed. With ongoing incidents it's easier to go by place unless so much time goes by that everyone and all their stuff is back home again. The bridge would get lumped in with the school. This attack failed but we've got two tree-eruption sites. Those plus the school/bridge makes three attacks that have been in the comic.
