Annie's room is about to get a little crowded. I'm pretty sure they just repurposed an emergency bunker into her bedroom.

Ooh, that's a good thought! Actually, now I think about it, it probably is representative of Annie not wanting to abandon her friends. I can see the court not caring about Robot or Shadow, and possibly even Rey.

Imagine explaining this one to parents.
"Your child has to come home temporarily, we have a giant tree growing out of the quad, it's very concerning and the school will be closed until the scary tree is dealt with. Also there's a homicidal wolf Coyote man thing running around."

It's either: 1. Jones, wanting to feel the power of Ys' trees 2. Annie, doing her "step aside from the action" routine 3. The ladies' on the mezzanine floor 4. An 'armless old robot

All this action and suspense in the story, and my first thought when I saw this chapter's cover was new color pallete!

That thumbnail is not from the title page, it is from a page further inside the chapter, here. In the middle on the right, just below Coyote's jaw. You can see Coyote's jaw and Ysengrin's shirt in the corners of the crop.

Also there's a homicidal wolf Coyote man thing running around." I doubt they'd admit that; otherwise, the parents would decide that the Court sounds too dangerous a place to send their children, and transfer them to more ordinary schools - most likely costing the Court future talent. (How they keep the children from talking about it, though, I don't know.) I agree with those who think the solitary figure in white is most likely Annie. I definitely want to see where the comic goes after this. While a mass evacuation of the Court certainly makes sense after these events, it raises the question of what the story will be like, with the main setting all but deserted. I assume Annie will somehow manage to stay, but most likely with nearly all the rest of the Court cast gone, and we can only guess for how long. (Maybe Tom will bring the Gilltie Wood part of the cast more to the fore now as the people whom Annie will do most of the interacting with, or do more "nearly-all-flashback" chapters about events before Annie came to the Court.)

I just re-read chapter 62 and I think it is very strongly connected to the events in the last chapter. Basically everything Ysengrin said about himself and Coyote is contradicted by his current behaviour...unless the dead goose tale has more significance than we can guess right now. Coyote seemed to press the point that he is everything (which would include Ysengrin). Ysengrin repeated the importance of his constraint several times but all that is now a big lie. Perhaps panel 2 on this page is the real moral of the tale. And what to think of Coyote's gifts? More trojan horse-like gadgets lying around the court?

Looks like you really hammered that home He nailed it. It could focus on all those getting separated, by evacuation or duty. I'm curious as to how Robot and Arthur acted during Shields Up. I'm assuming they went Red-Eyed. Also, there's the possibly darker story line, of how former Forest inhabitants will be treated.

Also there's a homicidal wolf Coyote man thing running around." I think most of the children's parents/families live inside the court. We don't know if "Evac" is referring to evacuation of the school or of THE ENTIRE COURT. If the latter is the case, the parents would be packing up, too! Also, there's the possibly darker story line, of how former Forest inhabitants will be treated. That's another interesting thing to consider. Are the students of Chester House part of the evac, considering they probably can take care of themselves? Does the Court even see them as equals? Or are they (and the data they process) considered too valuable to be left behind?

Doesn't it have to be Annie because she's been summoned to the forest? Or am I misremembering how that works?

Wow, this is intense. Is the entirety of GKC gonna evacuate? We've never gotten any solid answers on how many people live there, but we know it's the size of a big city. When asked about the size of GKC (comparable to a real life city), Tom mentioned Birmingham. He didn't actually say it was the size of Birmingham - only that he based it on such - but still, let's say GKC is the size of Birmingham. That's a million people! Imagine a city of one million trying to evacuate everyone. How will it be accomplished? With special spaceships? With underground tunnels? Even with 50,000 or so, it would be a big task. Also, I feel like the omega device will show up in this chapter. No particular reason, just an intuition.

It's possible that Robot was the only one who didn't suffer a system override since he had his entire body rebuilt by Kat. The head part looks original but I'm assuming she had to drop most of the coding it had and create an entire new interface to interact with the grown body she gave him (which if I'm not mistaken is a very simple one that just let him access the components since he had to learn how to do everything just like a human baby learning to walk). If I'm right about it, this is a good source of religious propaganda that he could use, advocating that the Angel gave him not only a body that can truly die but also had free will

Also, I feel like the omega device will show up in this chapter. No particular reason, just an intuition. But as I recall, aside from the school, the students living quarters, the teachers and staff residences and research facilities, GKC is mostly a ghost city full of empty buildings. And the reason for that is because most of it didn't need constructing at all since "it grew from the bismuth seed". So we're talking about the population of a big University. I'll use Birmingham as an example (since it seems like that Tom's favorite city), this Wikipedia page says that it's about 35000 students, so let's estimate 50000 to include staff and some families PS: this is being really generous with the numbers since we know they have just four houses with classes of 30 students per house per year and that would amount to about 1500 students, so if I had to guess without any previous base I'd say about 10000 people at most
