Shadow's concerned look feels like it's hinting Robot has been hit with this too. Oh man, are Seraph models still beholden to defensive programming? How will this be interpreted by the cult?

Tom loves to misdirect us with stuff like this so I'm taking it with a grain of salt. It's possible he's still in control but knows he has to help, or has been taken over(?) and is trying to fight it. No way to tell yet.

I’d wager at somewhere amongst the chaos, the barber bot just made an unhappy customer.

I’d wager at somewhere amongst the chaos, the barber bot just made an unhappy customer. Actually, that's a thought. Bait robots in with something big and imposing they may not be able to effectively fight, then wipe them out. Goodbye Court support staff.

Expressions. =) Actually, that's a thought. Bait robots in with something big and imposing they may not be able to effectively fight, then wipe them out. Goodbye Court support staff. The Court robots are not stupid. They don't do moths-to-incinerator routine. They do Gunnerkriegsmarine routine.

By The Way, isn't that John to the left of Shadow in the last panel? I'd forgotten he existed. [edit] another appearance[/edit]

Jonathan is presumably treating this development with his usual gravitas.
(otoh, it's enough to bring Jones out of storage!!)

What about the robot cows?? Laser-eyed cows at that! the robot cows live at the root of one of the trees, so they might be putting up a laser-defensive net, or trying to cut at the roots already, while the robot reinforcements from around the Court gather. I fall on the side of this robot-reaction being an automated defense response to a major threat to the Court. "Drop everything and proceed to contain/eradicate threat...(and any repair damage)"

Imagine just going in for a haircut, then this happens. Just now, that seems like complaining about getting a bad haircut on the morning of December 7, 1941.

I’d wager at somewhere amongst the chaos, the barber bot just made an unhappy customer. Fair enough. Though, it may have just saved Paz's life, as it looks like she was going to be eating brass tubing for lunch.

Who's the guy surrounded by blue? At first I thought it was Jack, but he looks way older than that now. Then I thought it was John, but he's such a minor character, why show him and not Margo, Parley or Matt?
This whole "dramatically showing everyone" page REALLY makes me think this is the beginning of the endgame.

Then I thought it was John, but he's such a minor character, why show him and not Margo, Parley or Matt? John does regularly pop up here and there. It's hard to recognize him sometimes because he is often in the background and sometimes we just can't see some or all of his face. Maybe he's going to get less minor. 'Cause if they can't defend the Court, some of them may try to avenge it, or something.

This whole "dramatically showing everyone" page REALLY makes me think this is the beginning of the endgame. ooooh, dang, I hope Im wrong, but maybe it is foreshadowing... that John dies as a result of the Forest-Court conflict. otherwise... why him and not 10 other, more significant characters? or even 10 other minor characters? maybe the panel is foreshadowing major life-changing, arc-bending events for all those depicted... (or maybe I'm over thinking this again!....)

This whole "dramatically showing everyone" page REALLY makes me think this is the beginning of the endgame. I wonder about that. We're certainly at a point where things have changed dramatically (Coyote apparently dead, Ysengrin attacking, the bridge destroyed, two gargantuan trees looming inside the Court), enough so that it's hard to imagine the familiar routine continuing. At the same time, there still seem to be many plot-threads unresolved. (Also, Annie has three to four school years left - depending on whether they keep her a year behind Kat and the rest of her original classmates or not.) I have the uneasy feeling (we'll soon find out whether it's right or not) that Monday's page (presumably showing a "summing-up moment") will have another end-of-chapter symbol, followed by Wednesday's page having another treatise, and Friday's having Tea announcing another two week break.

I know this might be wild speculation, but after stringing some clues together over the past few pages, I'm beginning to think people have started to notice the giant trees
