Tom's not making it easy to leave any key text to denote these pages.
Meanwhile, I'm guessing Annie's role as the Forest Medium is temporarily suspended until the bridge is restored. And field trips to the forest (that may have been in the works) are definitely on an indefinite hiatus.

Looks like everyone who said he would destroy the bridge are right. He's not interested in attacking the court - he just wants to sever all ties. (Or at least, that's what it looks like from this page.)

Hopefully, what is left of the bridge will be sturdy enough to hold until Annie and Andrew are safely on the other side...

I think they're safe regarding the stability of the bridge given it's plain concrete from top to bottom. But still, it must tremble a lot. And they're not safe regarding the speed of that giant hand destroying everything surrounding them. They'll get there. I believe it. I'll try to anyway. Hope.

(Or at least, that's what it looks like from this page.) That might be a better development for this stage of the story - not an all-out war between the Court and the Wood (which would eat everything up), but a new stage in the tensions between the two communities, with the bridge destroyed - on the one hand, making it harder for both sides to get at each other, but also probably increasing the suspicion and distrust they feel towards each other, ensuring the mood will be "cold war" rather than either "hot war" or peace.

No, those two are a bit big to be saved that way..... hmm. Edit: If Parley and Eggers aren't around, and Annie and Smitts can't outrun the fireball, there would need to be a whole flock of them to catch both safely, Annie was a lot smaller at 12 when they rescued her last time. Double hmmm.

Of course my mind tricked me, it wasn't Muut, it was Ysengrin himself. Here's when they said they found it: www.gunnerkrigg.com/?p=276And here's when Red said she saw him bury it right after Annie got out of there (and then ate her and her friend): www.gunnerkrigg.com/?p=320

And field trips to the forest (that may have been in the works) are definitely on an indefinite hiatus. I don't see a particular reason that Ys' wooden "arm" needs to be retracted. It might just remain in place, perhaps rooting to the sides and on the existing foundations. Since the bridge that currently (mostly) exists was built on the Court's terms I wonder if this is actually an effort to demolish that and build another on Ys' terms. The chief difference would be the lack of lights that keep shadowmen from crossing. Intimidating the mediums while doing so may be a bonus. Also, the alarm should start going off around the midpoint I guess.

And to think, all this because Coyote decided on a whim to give Ys his strength now.

I still want to know what the Court exactly did to make Ysengrin or Coyote or Grinote (depending on the analysis of the anger-causality) so angry and vindictive. Has to be something serious to foster this kind of grudge.

Has to be something serious to foster this kind of grudge. Until recently, the Court has always had a condescending tone in their relationship towards the Forest, but I don't think they did anything specifically against them. Humans, on the other hand, he hates for pretty much existing, being favored by Lord Coyote despite being clearly inferior.

And to think, all this because Coyote decided on a whim to give Ys his strength now. I very much doubt that was a whim. According to the flashbacks we've seen, Coyote has known for a long time that Ysengrim wants his strenght (and he's also keeping Ysengrim from remembering that he knows that). Now the kids have sent Jeanne into the ether and we were treated to a sequence in which Coyote muses how big of a deal that would be to Ysengrim. Just then he decides it's finnaly the time to give Y his strenght. I think it's more like a Kansas City Shuffle: Y thinks he outmaneuvered C, but ended up doing exactly what he expected and to which he planned accordingly. (edit: Or maybe a Batman Gambit? Those tropes are complicated.)

Oh, hey, daylight saving time in the UK. It's a relief that he was going for the bridge and not the people currently running away on it. If Parley and Eggers aren't around, and Annie and Smitts can't outrun the fireball, there would need to be a whole flock of them to catch both safely, Annie was a lot smaller at 12 when they rescued her last time. Double hmmm. How much weight can they carry? For that matter how much weight can a bird in general carry? I ask because the tic-tocs wouldn't need to carry them to the other shore; they'd only have to make them fall slower into the Annan waters(water which would also cushion the fall).

Hey, it's pretty LUCKY they decided to run when they did. Aaaaaand hopefully Smitty has enough LUCK to get them across a crumbling bridge. Can his etheric threads hold up giant concrete blocks? I guess we'll find out!
