If Annie and Smitface are still around, I'm not gonna toss them the idiot ball. I'm going to put on a ball for idiots, just for them. Big ol' dance for dummies being dumb.

Does Y get his stolen memories back when he eats Coyote?
Edit: I just saw that this has already been asked in the previous page's thread.

Coyote is freaking hamming it up. There is no way in any of the seven hells that he isn't acting.

Well, that's been looked after.
Running would be futile for Annie and Smitty. They might just as well stay where they are.

Where should they run to? We all know what Coyote's strength can do. There's nowhere to hide. Eglamore and Parley don't really stand a chance in that fight, and Jeanne no longer guards the river. No matter how fast they run, Ysengrin will be faster. The way I see it, there's only one option. Stand your ground.

Running away while there's an enraged predator around is pretty much the dumbest thing you could do. Unless you can run faster than the predator or you have shelter that you can reach in a moment. Neither of which are an option for Annie and Smitty right now.

There's been " The human! Get the human!" and now a good solid "GRAAA" possibly even "GRAAAA." Now all that is needed is a "What sorcery is this!?" (or alternatively "You fiend!" where fiend is underlined with a wavy line) and GC will have truly arrived as a fully-fledged comic. Everything horrifying going on here, and my only thought is wondering how Coyote tastes. Best guess: soil, sand, humus, bone meal, tree bark, leaf rot and other forms of rot, blended with water and unflavored gelatin, set overnight and then brought to room temperature. Black, blue, and red food coloring optional. If anyone tries it, post pics and react vid.

Also, I think someone asked this on the previous page, but where is Parley the protector? Annie had a stick she could break to call Jimmy Jims in an emergency, does Smitty have something similar?

She can throw up some mad flames, but would you count on a flame wall here? Ys was angry back then, but he was in control of his faculties, nor was he in the mood to establish dominance by killing (or at least trying to kill, or seriously harm) someone he's professed a kind of love for. There was a similar situation with the moss ogre. Annie stood her ground. Moss ogre backed down. Moss ogre was also definitely in charge of his faculties and ready to avail himself of the self-preservation instinct. I'd put my bets on super-powered and crazed Ysengrin in the match-up between that and Annie's flames. I don't think Parley and Eglamore could necessarily beat him, but three people standing their ground would certainly have a better chance. Honestly, though, the actual reason I'd be surprised if they aren't running is because that's what Annie's done before when Ysengrin's gotten in the murderin' mood. She ran, and she called for help. Because of that, I would anticipate that she and Smit run and call for backup, but when Ys comes after them she may in fact end up standing her ground. Perhaps his basic nature's respect for courage will keep him from doing serious harm, but we've been getting massive statements that Ys' stability is fragile, and the one moment where there may have been some self reflection and shift towards a better ground? Gone.

Perhaps his basic nature's respect for courage will keep him from doing serious harm, but we've been getting massive statements that Ys' stability is fragile, and the one moment where there may have been some self reflection and shift towards a better ground? Gone. But that all was before she was taught to fight the beasts, by Ysengrin and Coyote. We don't know if she learned her lesson. She might even stand up just to defend Coyote, like she stood up to defend Ysengrin. With both Smitty and Parley those three could make a very tough opponent even to Ysengrin endowed with Coyote's strength. They just successfully fought Jeanne, who's singlehandedly kept the Forest forces at bay, and Annie didn't really participate that time. All three of them moving unpredictably out of reach all the time, with flames and sword coming from any direction, at any moment, could well be match to the berserking Ys. Also, let's not forget that when given away, Coyote's powers come with weaknesses. Ysengrin will find a downside to his new strength. However, aside from running and fighting there's also the option that Parley comes there and together with Smitface teleports them all back to the Court where they warn the Court about the danger and start war preparations. This seems like the easy, simple solution. Like when Eggers saved Annie, but easier. Kind of backup plan by default. My feeling just is that Annie will rather fight Ysengrin now, because she considers both Ys and Coyote friends: she would like to prevent Ysengrin from going all insane, and would then try to simultaneously fight him and calm him down; and she might actually fear for Coyote, and try to save him. She also has a temperamental fire elemental side that would exactly act in the heat of the moment and not want to back up to think about it first. And if they take her back to the Court without giving her a chance to help Coyote, she might regret that and be primarily worried about Coyote while others are scared for the upcoming attack of the Forest creatures. I almost expect Ys to get torched on the next page, perhaps on the very next panel.

As to all the speculation on last page about Ysengrin being on the mission of getting back his memories or something, he really doesn't look like he's in the mood for negotiation.

Wow. He actually et 'im. I have absolutely not expected that. Now I'm wondering if Coyote eating Ys memories was (in addition to doing it for the lulz) planned to be a contingency for exactly the current situation. Remember, Coyote also ate all the post-rage-attack shame and confusion. If all that hits Ys at once, it has a pretty good chance to give him a pause. That, or drive him completely loco. Coyote seems pretty empty inside O: It's his great secret after all

She can call Eglamore of course. It doesn't change the fact that they can't run. Or well, they can, but then they'll die anyway. She needs Ysengrin to regain his senses, like he did when he attacked her last time and she blinded him with her blinker stone. Not that I think this tactic will work this time. But she doesn't need to beat him, really, just to break his rage. There is one thing she could use. Remember how Coyote gave that to her the same day he told her to stand her ground and to remember the "true Ysengrin"? Remember how he really didn't want Ysengrin to find out he'd given it to her?

Isn't the teeth-sword with Parley now? I somehow doubt this would be Coyote's plan to get Ys killed though. That would seem a bit odd. Maybe arranging a fight between Annie and Ys amuses him, but this much? Compared to everything else that could happen when Ysengrin has his strength? Mainly, Ysengrin attacking the Court?

One thing I just noticed is that Ysengrin seems to be coming out of his tree body. You can see both of his wolf paws in this page. I think this combined with Annie having to stand her ground and remembering the "true Ysengrin" could be the key to resolving this situation. After all, strength doesn't mean much if your body is too frail to support it. Although on the other hand, Coyote's strength could have reinvigorated his body, although from this page it seems like that's not the case. Also, has Ysengrin lost the ability to control the trees now? The page linked above almost makes it look like the tree body is falling apart. Can Coyote gift more than one ability to the same person?

Isn't the teeth-sword with Parley now? No. Annie proposed using it against Jeanne, but they didn't. Parley only had it for like, two minutes. Given what happened, I doubt she was eager to keep it. I somehow doubt this would be Coyote's plan to get Ys killed though. That would seem a bit odd. I don't think he intends for Annie to kill him, or even truly fight him, no. She's a medium. When she uses strength, she uses it to initiate dialogue. I truly think all Annie needs in terms of strength is the means to shake Ysengrin from his rage, so she can talk to him.

The more I look at Coyote in these recent pages, the more he looks so so so darn theatrical that I can't possibly believe he was really dying. Old dog's tricks.

I am not saying a thing. I'm just gonna sit here in my burrow and avoid breathing loudly till the big bad wolf finishes eating the coyote and moves away to eat the shiny industrial city across the river. bye bye.

Honestly after a page like the last one this just feels a little extra. Isn't the teeth-sword with Parley now? No. Annie proposed using it against Jeanne, but they didn't. Parley only had it for like, two minutes. Given what happened, I doubt she was eager to keep it. Did we see her give it back? I don't remember. If we didn't, I'm going to assume she still has it until it's been proven otherwise.
