Oh goodness. Having Juliette and Arthur present won't help Tony's awkwardness at all, I'd think.

Hmm. Test-drive time? As there are no floating bodies visible, maybe Kat has a prototype ready?

Or seeing Annie react to something in a way that Surma would have will snap him out of it and remind him that annie is a real person too.

Maybe Arthur can be the one to teach Tony basic humanity.
I've been waiting for a robot to interact with Tony, not just for that joke but also to raise awareness; calling Tony a robot is actually really dismissive of the court robots emotional capacity.

I really hope so, seeing that Annie only acts like she does when he's being all controlling and dismissive might be a needed kick to the head.

Alright, let's get this Katurday started! Don't mind the wall flower, if he really wanted to leave he would. Hmm. Test-drive time? As there are no floating bodies visible, maybe Kat has a prototype ready? The absence of both the floating bodies and Robot is becoming conspicuous.

He hasn't been able to walk around since Jeanne destroyed his previous one so I'd imagine he had priority over Arthur.

I'm starting to get the feeling that this lab session isn't as specifically intended for repairing father-daughter relationships. Seems more like Kat is trying to just have them work together on something, and slowly build a camaraderie that way. Could also be that etheric powers might be useful at this juncture.
Just guessing as to the time, I think it's somewhere between 9AM and 11AM, so it'll be a little while before we see what Reynardine has to have the coast clear for.

More people! That will surely help Tony be more like himself!
By the way, first time we see Juliette in casual clothing. Arthur, on the other hand, cannot even change clothes.

Maybe, Rey is supposed to escort Shadow to the rooftop soiree, so everyone can see a new and improved Robot reveal. But why would they need the "coast to be clear"? If there is a new Robot body, anyone have guesses as to what it may look like? Rooftop reveal could mean bird-like wings.

Huh. So we're going to act like the exchange at the end of the last page never happened? Okay then...
It's party time!

Huh. So we're going to act like the exchange at the end of the last page never happened? Perhaps Tom's recognized that the problems between Annie and Antony work best in small doses by now (until he's ready to resolve that thread) - throw them in briefly (because it's a major part of Annie's life at present and can't be ignored), then move on to other threads for the remainder of the chapter.

Robot: "Ms. Kat, I originally asked for it, but now I'd rather not look like George Clooney."

Kat doesn't even bother to find her wire strippers. seeing that Annie only acts like she does when he's being all controlling and dismissive might be a needed kick to the head. "Mea Culpa!!1" is already a part of the Tony Being Tony state space. What would this change?

It might show him that she isn't the same closed off neurotic mess that he is. When has Anthony actually seen Annie around others? The Donlans? Right after he acted as the court's hatchet man, which he despises himself for and she's still dealing with the fallout from. Kat? Carbon copy of his friendship with Donny, who is the only person left he can open up to. Every time they're alone together it's either him acting as an authority figure separate from a father or on what we're assuming are some really awkward family dinners (which is a fair assumption given what we know).
We haven't seen all of Tony's character yet. He didn't want to answer Surma's question about his own family. Why did he leave most of the parenting to Surma? We've seen he was clearly the same as he is now when he was a child, but we don't know how he got that way. Does he currently see his daughter as a younger version of himself? Him seeing Annie acting relaxed and engaged with a whole group of people, some of whom she's just met, might be enough to give him an inkling that she has not turned out like him.

No we don't, but I can't quite think of anything else that would explain that distance he displayed towards her as a child, even when alone, as him lacking faith in himself as a parent for whatever reason. This is a guy who wants to quantify, investigate and measure everything but he can't figure himself out at all and it distresses him. Not wanting your child to repeat your mistakes is pretty high up there on a parent's list of priorities. Stack on all the drama and pain he's put her through since returning on top of that and nearly killing her, it's a lot of guilt and pressure he's put on himself. Seeing his kid has grown up OK despite everything might be the first step towards some healing. I really hope so anyway, even with his actions being as indefensible as they have been and the comic being difficult to read at times as a result, I really do think this will be its most important arc when its resolved (or not) one way or the other. So yeah, speculation fueled by wishful thinking. Next few pages may be interesting for other reasons than possible robot testing.

I do suspect that a crucial part of the "Antony thread" is that it's a problem that can't be solved with the usual "etheric" or "advanced science" methods that a lot of the other problems Annie and Kat have encountered in the comic. This is a "real-world problem", not something fantastic like helping a living shadow return to his forest-home or freeing a maddened ghost. Perhaps much of its significance is it marks the webcomic "growing up" along with its leads.
