My memory is shoddy at best. Have we ever heard Surma complain about Eglamore before, or show general dissatisfaction?
Though I suppose the fear and excitement in the adventure is probably contributing a lot here.

He's away so offen." I think most people think this is set in the winter before this trip. (I'm not sure, I think the short hair shows change, so set after? We'll see.) Though with so much excitement, indeed, who could resist a man like Tony!

Surma and he don't seem to share any common interests. Tony, OTOH, is interested in *her* abilities and she is beginning to appreciate his multi-legged friends....

I was half expecting to find a brief tangent about the big, rainbow-coloured bug below the comic.

I have never seen a girl give a boy a more romantic stare of love than Surma gives Tony on this page.

Tony, OTOH, is interested in *her* abilities and she is beginning to appreciate his multi-legged friends.... *ding ding ding!* I think this hits the nail on the head. I’d say they’re early twenties here. Likely Surma/Eggs started dating in their teens. And it’s entirely possible that Eggs, while ludicrously hot, is really really boring right then. Someone who trains all the time and is often gone might not be the most thrilling conversationalist - this is especially problematic if he’s self centred. This is, however, speculation. What we CAN see for sure is Tony. And Tony here is passionate and careful, engaging, and interested in what makes Surma tick. That, plus the fact that he’s surprisingly good looking once he relaxes, probably has a LOT to do with Surma’s changing attitude. I’m guessing this panel with it’s long, contemplative look is about Surma realizing that she’s actually becoming interested in this guy.

I think now is a great time to point out something that has been bothering me forever. Chapter 61, Red's Friend Gets A Name Too I Suppose, is not labeled "Chapter 61." At first I thought that it wasn't labeled because the name was too long, but Terror Castle of the Jupiter Moon Martians is just as long and is labeled. And then I thought surely somebody else would point it out, but no one ever did and I forgot about it. Is there a reason for this?

Another thing that gives me the feeling this happened later on is the way Anja closes her workshop as if for the last time. Like she just closed a chapter in her life and is moving on to the next, where she won't have time for the robot's anymore. Somebody did mention it, though I don't remember if it was here or in the discord chat. But nothing ever came of it. Maybe Tom will do something about it when he turns his attention to the website again. The cast page is still lacking.

I think you got the names mixed up. No just sloppy syntax. The sentence works either way around.

In ancient times (e.g., for the Greeks, and notably in the Old Testament) apples were a symbol for lust! Also today's page is totally this but with bugs (I think someone made a reference in an earlier thread too):

It's a very plot-important page. That was the moment when Surma first realised that having an awesome looking pet is really, really cool. Eventually leading to creation of certain plush toy waiting for its day. Mounts can be cool too, but they are also here as transport, rather than just for being cool.

Even the bugs are starting to become more handsome by the page. Technically, that's a beetle (chewing mouthpart, squareish carapace vs v-shape), but true

Who was it that pointed out Surma's eyes are a different color than Annie's? Because on this page, Surma's eyes are both colors. Her right one is blue, the left one is grey. I went back to check she didn't have heterochromia before, either. Hmm.

I went back to check she didn't have heterochromia before, either. Hmm. I don't think she's supposed to have two eye colours. It's either a colouring mistake or because of the pretty coloured lights on this page. (To me it looks most like both - like Tom missed that he'd missed the grey eye because of all the different colours)
I don't get why people don't seem to like this chapter. It's romantic, realistic and extremely warm and it's nice to see more of Surma as a real woman and not just Annie's memories of a slowly dying saint-mother. I think this is only the second time we've seen the real fully alive her and certainly the longest (the other is talking to Anja about the robots - the episode with Renard doesn't seem like the real her from everything else we know of her). It's interesting to see that Tony is actually occasionally normal too (so far all we've been shown of his past is that he's weird, sad and stunted as a child and deeply feeling but broken after Surma's death, which was humanising but grim) When you see Surma like this you see even more why Tony couldn't cope at all with her weakening and dying. She was absolutely full of life. Everyone changes as they get older and especially having children can change you but what happened to Surma was so extreme. I hope Annie got to know her like this at least a little bit. I know she definitely felt her mom's love for her and Surma did teach her some stuff about her powers but it's even sadder than having your mum die when you're a child if she's not been herself your whole childhood. Because of her self imposed exile from the court, everyone Annie meets who gushes about Surma is probably describing someone Annie never knew. And you may not fully know your parents when you're a child, but you at least normally see flashes of the real adult them, right?
