I think I've figured it out. Surma, being part fire elemental, has a lens flare fetish, and all these low angle shots involving the sun are messing with her brain.

Oh. Thanks for clearing out it's not Eglamore, Tom. I was almost getting confused.

Pointing out, for what it's worth, the ostentatious fire extinguisher placed halfway between them and the first-aid cupboard next to Tony. Beware, Surma, he's entangling his emblems with your life!

Oh. Thanks for clearing out it's not Eglamore, Tom. I was almost getting confused. Not sure if this is Tom's meaning. I think he meant the window-sill guy, not the dream-muscle guy. That one still looks like Eggers, if anyone.

Hopefully it's just cosmetics, but still quite appalling look. I think I've figured it out. Surma, being part fire elemental, has a lens flare fetish, and all these low angle shots involving the sun are messing with her brain. Ah. Pointing out, for what it's worth, the ostentatious fire extinguisher placed halfway between them and the first-aid cupboard next to Tony. Beware, Surma, he's entangling his emblems with your life! No, he just has no illusions as to with whom he works.

Tony is chasing insects on his own at 7am, isn't he. It is the best time, as anyone would know. Also, bring a boar with you to look under logs!

Tony is chasing insects on his own at 7am, isn't he. He may be coming back. Night time is the right time (for some insects anyway). The problem with traps is that you catch the same types of insect over and over, sometimes the very same bastards just fall right back in. If you go looking you can choose to ignore common ones and ones that you've already got a good specimen of.

Dude's looking more handsome every page, doesn't he? Dream-Eglamore looks pretty adult already, though, way different than what he looked like in Ties. I'm pretty sure now they are at least close to graduation in this flashback, 16 or 17 years old.

Tony becoming more attractive each page is proof he is using some sort of mind control device!

Forget absolutely everything else dramatic or surprising that has happened or ever will happen in the comic. The single biggest plot twist is, and will always be, Tony turning out to be kinda ripped under those baseball tees. This is the pinnacle of storytelling. Everyone can go home now.

As far as I remember, we have never seen Surma using her powers or talking about them, so IS Tony actually aware of who he's working with? Or when Surma gets startled by a particularly nasty bug and instinctively vaporizes it, will poor Tony faint with the shock?

I hadn't even noticed that. Tony is clearly prepared for "complications due to combustibles". He may have noticed her reluctance to look for insects, and kindly decided not to wake her for night work. Then again, he may have decided that her problematic assistance would hinder him, and left her behind for expediency. Maybe both?....

Oh god, the first time around I didn't even NOTICE that Surma was dreaming about Eglamore's bulging muscles. It's the little details that get me.
Confirmed: a lengthy and dramatic bodybuilding contest was held, with the prize being Surma's hand in marriage, and Tony won with the use of steroids he invented himself from the juice of a special rare Brazilian jungle bug. I am calling it. When this turns out to be 100% right, I expect you all to worship me for my predictive powers.

Or when Surma gets startled by a particularly nasty bug and instinctively vaporizes it, will poor Tony faint with the shock? I feel like Tony must know by now. I mean, the way Surma talked back in Ties makes me think that Surma isn't shy about showing off her powers. Plus, we KNOW Brinnie wasn't shy about using hers, and I'm sure Donnie has gushed about Anja's abilities plenty.

Anja said "people don't like it when we use our magics", which implies that they have each used some Etheric abilities in public. Although Donald saw Anja using them for the first time when they met the Bound Dog later in the chapter, so it might be that at least Anja and Surma got more cautious when they were transferred from Chester to Queslett. However, after the experience they should be sure their friends didn't have any problems with Etheric affinity. Plus, Eglamore is learning Ether-related tricks at his Protector training.

So are we seeing what actually happened, or is this flashback still a second-hand retelling?

Also, my first chapter thread created. I remember that feeling. It quickly fades. Also, you may want to reposition yoir link's end tag.

Surma in panel 5 is me everyday when I get up. Doesn't matter what time it is.
