Errm... maybe the experiment succeeded, and this is Arthur, transferred to a Kat clone??
We expect exposition... one day.

The scar makes him look like he's got a smug expression in panel #3.

Now with a proper close up, I gotta say Kat's new hairstyle is slick

Poor Annie. It's painful to see how Tony immediately becomes cold again once she enters the room. Like, entire-body-covered-in-giant-bandaid-being-ripped-off-as-slowly-as-you-can-imagine painful.

So we're once again reminded, this time real harshly, he's not a cold SOB to all of humanity. It's Annie in particular he despises to death.

So Tony's working with her but he doesn't know Kat's name isn't Shortly?
In all seriousness it's kinda weird, what with Annie seemingly seeking Kat's approval of her dad previously. I guess more than anything it's just a surprise.

Well, that's the most relaxed we've seen Tony since he showed up. But seriously both Annie and Tony need counciling, a lot of it.

Why's Eglamore being so cold to Annie?
Ha-ha. Ha.

Well, that's the most relaxed we've seen Tony since he showed up. But seriously both Annie and Tony need counciling, a lot of it. In my imagination, he gets slightly drunk before going to see Kat, to minimize his social anxiety. It might explain a bit of this. Anti-anxiety prescribed by Jack Daniels. A good Single-Barrel, as Tony's an ass but no savage.

Is it my imagination, or is Tony's pocketed hand now flesh colored?! Either a flesh colored prosthesis or ....has Kat grown him a new one already?! (If a new one, it's not even purple!)

Tony is right, he must be getting along, with Kat... and Annie may be too surprised about that to even think her father is ignoring her. But seriously both Annie and Tony need counciling, a lot of it. I wonder how that dinner went... I wonder if it will be resolved in this chapter or later / never. Side comic? Pages and pages of ackward silence, eventually relieved by the sounds of dishwashing.

Kat has been mad at Annie's dad for years. To walk in on them laughing together after their last meeting in Annie's presence was... not very funny makes you wonder what Tony's been doing as a teacher recently. Tony is right, he must be getting along, with Kat... and Annie may be too surprised about that to even think her father is ignoring her. I wonder how that dinner went... I wonder if it will be resolved in this chapter or later / never. Side comic? Pages and pages of ackward silence, eventually relieved by the sounds of dishwashing. Bonus points if the 'dinner' was the frigid contents of a heinz can. Literal cool beans.

How horrible it is that a guy who court is trying to control for their Omega project doesn't act in way that would put his daughter in danger as leverage against him.

Well, Kat does not seem as if Annie had caught her doing something secret. I infer from this that Annie knew the two of them were working together somehow. But did not expect them to actually get along like this. Hmm.
That, or that was actually the first time Anthony visited Kat ("I will contact you again shortly." suggests that.), and Kat has a happy face and is about to say "Guess what, Annie, your dad can be a nice guy after all, and we just agreed to work together on my project now!" Which would still leave the the question open how on Earth could Tony make Kat get along with him?

So we're once again reminded, this time real harshly, he's not a cold SOB to all of humanity. It's Annie in particular he despises to death. Despise? No. He just either can't or doesn't know how to deal with his daughter, and is too wrapped around himself to try. It's going to take a long time to break the ice between those two, but it's not because Tony doesn't care for Annie. Remember, he wouldn't even be at the Court if she didn't need him to bail her out from all the trouble she was in with the school. Ugh, this was so unsatisfying. No questions answered whatsoever. I swear, Tom, you leave us hanging too much! Have some patience. No good story can run on instant gratification, alone. This comic isn't written to be read a page every two days, but as whole chapters from the archives or as printed volumes. You wouldn't be saying that if you could just turn the page and read the entire chapter in one sitting -- like you can once it's done.

Ugh, this was so unsatisfying. No questions answered whatsoever. I swear, Tom, you leave us hanging too much! IMO, it answered two questions: - How will Annie react to finding Anthony in Kat's workshop? - How will Anthony react to Annie showing up in Kat's workshop? Answer: awkwardly.

I am now picturing an alternate scenario, where Antimony actually caught her dad smiling and laughing, whereupon he is forced to just jump out of the nearest window, yelling, "IMUSTBEGETTINGALONGNOWKATIWILLCONTACTYOUSHORTLYOHANDANTIMONY'STHERETOOGOODBYE", as he sprints away among the shards of broken glass. Antimony is then somewhat relieved to see her father acting normally again.

I just had a wildspec theory: Anthony just visited Kat for the first time in her workshop, but they had been communicating anonymously via online chat for weeks now, and THAT'S how she came to learn he secretly is a decent dude.

Dude, it's ok, I've been reading this comic since like Chapter 4 or something. I know. I'm still allowed to comment when stuff like this happens. I commented in a similar vein when Jones' nature was dangled before us for chapters on end. It's just my honest first reaction to seeing the page, what's wrong with that? In general I view this as great storytelling because it evokes emotions and keeps us engaged. It would be boring if everything was just straightforward and predictable. But my initial reaction is still "Argh! Tom! Not again!" And it's not a negative one.
