End of chapter. Ofcourse; just as the plot thickens...

Is that just a wee robot or an unusually tall person? Most of the modern robots seem to be smaller than adults. If I recall correctly these two have been monitoring Kat's robotics progress until they caught wind of Shadow. Is this why they are here? Or did they also manage to catch the Jeanne rescue plot on tape?

"Soldering license, please." Or: "The Court is a closed shop state." (translation for non-Americans: "May I see your electrical workers union card, please?")

No, please just no. Or if, please let Jones have some influence in this. Seems as if Ms. Operator is taking orders from her at least. Or let her interest in Shadow have ceased and let her not discover too much in Kat's garage. [edit] Eglamore?

"May I see your electrical workers union card, please?" More like: "May I see your Mad Scientist Union card, please? And your Mad Cackling Laughter Licence?"

Who are these strange people, and what have they done with Jones?
Oops! Got my end of chapter estimate wrong: in order for new chapters to start on the facing page, the count has to be even, but I forgot to include the 'extra'. Speaking of which, I think that will either be Tea explaining where you've last seen these guys, Tea describing the origins of the 'dead goose' fable, or a montage of Annie having a wordless dinner with her Father.

Oh, on that note: when Jones receives the distress call from Anthony (which wasn't a phone call as such, as revealed later), the same ensign appears on her phone as on the lapels here (as worn by others, of course -- the recruiters of Zimmy, the pursuers of Jack). Whether it refers to the caller or the receiver is another matter. I seem to recall that Ms. Operator's name was Juliane, and that she was Margo's mother? It's an old joke that Tom supposedly can't draw Eglamore with any consistency and thus it's safe to assume that any character we haven't seen in a while is him.

I'm not particularly worried about Kat. After all, if Juliette was very concerned about Kat's activities she would surely have brought more backup.
Also, I'm a little disappointed that Coyote didn't really do anything in this chapter. I want to find out what he said!

It's an old joke that Tom supposedly can't draw Eglamore with any consistency and thus it's safe to assume that any character we haven't seen in a while is him. It was one occasion when he drew Eglamore with longer hair, something that Jones mentioned in the dialogue. (And I think that joke's become worn-out by now.)

We will have to wait for Coyote to make his presence known.

Whether it refers to the caller or the receiver is another matter. I am embarrassed that I missed the contact thumbnail. I think it safe to say that Jones' phone was programmed to show the call as coming from the security force. Hacking into the Court's phone system to hide his tracks seems like something Anthony, a.k.a Sneaky McSneakerson, would do. But Anthony was not in his right mind at the time of the call, so either he is so good at sneaking the he did it unconsciously or something else placed the call for him. I'm not particularly worried about Kat. After all, if Juliette was very concerned about Kat's activities she would surely have brought more backup. Also, I'm a little disappointed that Coyote didn't really do anything in this chapter. I want to find out what he said! Many chapters later... Do you remember that thing Coyote said back in Chapter 62? Well I bet it is a big surprise that it has come back around and turned out to be so important. Oh wait, you didn't see what Coyote said? Coyote is such a stinker! Seriously though, this chapter does seem like set of transition vignettes. The whole Jeanne affair left so many open questions and it would have seemed odd if this chapter solely focused on just one question. Readers would be squawking "what about this" and "what about that" the whole time. The vignettes seem to acknowledge the open questions and leave it at "it remains to be seen".

But Anthony was not in his right mind at the time of the call, so either he is so good at sneaking the he did it unconsciously or something else placed the call for him. The first voice we hear on the other end of the line (on the relevant page) seems to have been some kind of operator who was transferring the call in from Anthony. So it would seem Tony placed the call to the Court, and the Court directed it to his daughter through Jones' phone.

I wonder if the next chapter may be about Shadow. Since the river is clear, Shadow Men may be crossing at an increased rate, and people in the Court are wondering why.
