Also, what's the matter with you today, I managed to make the forum thread while talking about the new page on Discord and reading random economics blog posts. I remember an age when "creating the thread" was a furious competition against time I had no chances at.

Ayilu got a name, and we got the chapter thumbnail in frame 2. There are no more constructions on what can happen in the rest of the chapter.

very subtle passive aggressiveness... If the fairies had a surname, "subtle" would be their middle name.

I genuinely can't figure out if this is bizarre excitement or a roundabout bitchout
Considering there wouldn't be a lot to storytell about if she just liked the name, I figure she mad
Y she mad tho?

She's excited about the name, but also mad that Red got out of admitting her love confession. This isn't just about the name, it's about two fairy girls who are in love with each other and aren't sure what to do about it.

Careful there Ayilu, if you keep this up you might develop a severe case of self loathing.

Ah, so this is what happens when a fairy naming goes wrong. There must be a reason there were so many warnings against accidentally naming them, after all...

I suspect that she is experiencing mixed feelings about the name. Repercussions imminent. This could go either way, and maybe Antimony should make her exit before things get awkward. More awkward, actually.

On the cast page, she is still called Blue (in the alt text and the name of the image).

This isn't just about the name, it's about two fairy girls who are in love with each other and aren't sure what to do about it. I would be more inclined to believe this if it weren't the new name she was trying to send out the window and break into little pieces. It would make more sense for her to write Red's name on things and send them out the window if the anger was at her denial. Putting her new name on a piece of paper and burning it seems very directly aimed at the name itself. Maybe Ayilu hates the color yellow (the apparent meaning of the name). I think they're supposed to love their names because it gives them freedom, but she genuinely hates it, so she verbally does the correct thing but acts with hatred otherwise.

On the cast page, she is still called Blue (in the alt text and the name of the image). Based on this page I'm actually wondering if fairies can even name eachother. Why are they only asking Annie and not Red now she has acquiered name-status (besides the fact they might not be eager for a name like 'ppbbbbtttttthhhhpptttt[...]') or why hasn't Red given names to just about anyone just for funsies? We have not seen any fairies named by fairies, for now at least, even a city fairy like Ogee is probably named by a Magpie. ( though how her sister is named Torus, no clue probably by a Magpie that has listened to a mathmatician too much). It could explain why 'Ayilu' is acting weird (even for a fairy) instead of making some strange face: She expected to feel different, but she doesn't, and is acting out. She's totally going through the denial/anger curve right now It could be the perfect opportunity for Tom to let this escelate for a page or two more before Annie makes this panel-four-face again and screams 'blue, how can you be so xxx?!'.

Based on this page I'm actually wondering if fairies can even name each other. That would be cheating! Fairies aren't allowed to cheat.

Annie is the most amusing one on this page, however.

All these antics would seem to be examples of how fairies evidently express deeply felt, sincere love: through giddily gleeful acts of mischievous abuse, violence and/or destruction that conventionally socialized humans would tend to regard as scandalous and might frequently misinterpret as indicators of genuine underlying hostility, rather than the cathartically joyous expressions of purely loving life energy that these acts would actually be to the fairies themselves. Leading to even more hilarious misunderstandings, should passing humans mistakenly project their misinterpretations onto them and attempt to "fix" the "problem." The only "problem" in evidence over the past few pages is when Red slipped up for a second and actually blurted out a direct statement of her love. Such is not their way; Red must have been spending too much time around humans lately. She recovered nicely, though, and they seem to have gotten past it now. You do you, Red & Ayilu! Cheers.
