Do not go quiet into that good night......so first, since when is Muut this much of a dick?
Is it just that he doesn't want to interfere in someone's life and death?
Maybe if Kat BAPs him again he'll change his mind.

It's always good to see Annie being a bit emotional. I know to some she'll come off as a bit of a brat for "You Owe Me!" But I can't imagine I would say much different myself.

I think she comes across as totally reasonable actually. Smitty was only there helping her because of the mission that Muut and friends gave Annie, after all.

Still not clear why we aren't bipping off to the nearest ER...

And this, Ladies and Gentlemen, is Muut's "You just don't get it, do you?" face.

Annie used to resent the Afterlife guides for not coming to her mother's aid, but as things turned out they had a good reason for it.
Now she has presumably seen them perform feats that could save Smitty in this situation, but they refuse to fix it. I wonder if it's something similar.
Still a "slowly pulling off the band-aid"-chapter.

I wonder, quite hypothetically of course, what would happen if the psychopomp who said that got shanked with Diego's arrow? Still not clear why we aren't bipping off to the nearest ER... No bippin' kidding. (Though that said, that could result in finding out the hard way what happens when Parley tries to strain her powers while emotionally distraught and without Andrew stabilizing her.)

Well this all seems reasonable. ... I hope Coyote appears to crack a few horns/feathers/heads. ... and Jones, she hasn't been pulling her (considerable) weight of late.

I suppose that it's like a postman asking someone to unjam a mail chute. Even a person does so, and the postman is personally happy that a letter that had been stuck in there for a long time finally came out, the postman isn't obligated to hand over some other piece of mail that fell into the box in the process to repay the favor.

Except instead of the minor act of clearing some mail, this is one that had killed dozens, if not hundreds of people/monsters/psychopomps over the years and carried significant risk to all involved. Someone's gonna bust some uptight psychopomp heads and I'm putting money on Kat.

This is the type of thing that ends up being a villain backstory. You know, "they let a loved one of mine die after I did their dangerous dirty work so now I oppose them." Annie would be a wonderful final boss. Very emotional I bet.

Well why did thy all come then? They couldn't have came in such number just for Muut to speak for all of them, and then just leave.

Still not clear why we aren't bipping off to the nearest ER... That's the question. They probably expect that no court technologies can save him.

For a psychopomp, one person dying seems like not a big deal. And Jeanne was DEFINITELY a big deal, who killed several of them. She's gone now, and Annie has earned one favor, Minimum.

"Do something about this!" "We will not" "But you owe me!" "There is nothing we can do, he isn't actually dead. By sheer stroke of luck the blade pierced the bottle of ketchup he for some reason decided to bring today and tuck into his shirt pocket."

And this will be argued against by Muut, from my perspective. He never gave her a mission. He was glad, Annie got involved in Jeanne's business, but never would have asked her for help for obvious reasons, right? It was the ROTD who were very happy, Annie was offering help, too. Annie's emotions are understandable, even though she should focus them on the court rather than Muut and the gang. The court has interfered and from my point of view, the court is responsible for smitty's pain right now, neither Muut nor the ROTD.

"There is nothing we can do, he isn't actually dead. By sheer stroke of luck the blade pierced the bottle of ketchup he for some reason decided to bring today and tuck into his shirt pocket." That's a good point. The 'pomps may not be able to do anything even if they wanted to because Smitface isn't dead. They're forbidden from interfering with the living, if I recall right. linky linkyAnd Smitty may not even be dying.

They owe her nothing because. If you bring someone to to after live you get a little of live engey and now Annie can heal hem like. like she health the wound on annie's hed.
That is why so many pomps die try "help" her

I guess it's about 50/50 they would. I'm disappointed but not surprised.
I feel terrible in any case.
