That regeneration is really gross, I wonder if he's reviving or retaking his true form but as a spirit.
I'm glad he's not taking hostile action just yet, though.

Ohmygod. Should not have waited until 3am to see this update. Now I'm going to have zombie nightmares. Whatever he's got in the hand better be helpful to Smitty. Goodnight 0_0

Do the Forest people possibly use engagement rings?
Can Jean retroactively not kill someone? I'm guessing that's a no, but there's always hope (please).

First thought: okay, okay, good to see green guy again, but what about Smitty?!
Second thought: if we're allowed to see this scene then maybe we need not worry about Smitty? Otherwise we'd still have some focus on him.
Third thought: Why is he giving the object to Annie? One would think it would go to his beloved Jeanne.
Fourth thought: If his body is being regrown before us, does this mean that he's about to become alive once more? Meaning Jeanne could possibly become alive again as well? And whatever injuries Smitty received will be healed quickly!?
Fifth thought: Could it be that he rejected the ghost he saw and instead turned to the nearest person that reminded him of Jeanne? Or possibly the person he recognized as interfering in his imprisonment apparatus?

Five bucks it's his blinker stone My first thought was a blinker stone, too. Do we know if he had one? I hadn't considered a ring. Small enough, but would he offer it to Annie? Too late for an archive binge to see what small things were associated with him. Poor green guy.

Since " Blinkerstones are traditionally given between couples", there wouldn't be much difference between a ring or a blinker, but it fits the story quite well. Maybe, since a blinkerstone can act as a lens, it can help Annie see something we've not seen until now... I'm really wondering how people acquire blinkerstones in the first place.

Yeah, now if only we could link to that page where a character explains how blinker stones are great for curing people of heart stabbings caused by ghost daggers.. Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if Kat gained some valuable insight into how blinker stones work when she scoped it while in Robot Angel boring-mode.

Say what you want about Annie's lack of common sense... but the girl has nerves of steel. Eyeless zombie has me by the boots, you say? Better see what he wants.
I know Annie has the whole "not fazed by the supernatural" thing, but I wouldn't have thought that extended to rotting, reanimated corpses. She seems almost untouched by fear sometimes.
Would pay to see Kat's reaction to all of this.

Nothing. Now you can see it. He only tries to asks for two coins for the old penny pincher Charon. So... either Annie forgot to turn her ether-sight on when it's needed… again… or it's tiny. So the dude recognizes what Annie is and holds 4 coins. Looks like Jimmy-Jims has neglected his exercising. No, no. "That's what steroids will do to you". Eyeless zombie has me by the boots, you say? Better see what he wants. No big deal compared to RotD, but given the circumstances... I'm surprised that when grabbed, Annie didn't shriek, jump in the air and make a little glassed crater under herself even before looking.

I would suggest he pull himself together, but seems to be managing nicely. My guess says he (his spirit anyway) is finishing the last thing he set out to do.

It's Jeanne's heart. He has hers, but seeing what they've done, she is now willing and able to join her love in the ether, so they shove the heart in Smitty's chest, healing him to some degree or another, and everyone is saved.
This is my headcannon until Tom proves otherwise.

Not sure I wanna see that in the poor Smit-ster....

Thots:
A) If he didn't know he was dead and had rotted then he wouldn't appear to be rotting. If he knew how much time had passed he'd appear as a skeleton, I guess, so he's truly lost track of how long he's been stuck.
B) Compare Antimony's foot in panel #1 and #2; She's turned AWAY from Mr. Green in panel #2, so she's at minimum pivoting to brace herself to potentially escape his grasp.

★☆☆☆☆ Took forever to arrive!, by fencergirl274 The delivery estimate said 30-45 minutes. Tracking the order only gave standard answer "order has been shipped and is being handled by the shipping provider". I had to actually become a ghost and wait hundreds of years for it. When my purchase arrived, it had water damage and was covered in moss. Would not use this service again.
