Ayyyy Andrew's powers coming in handy again! This page leads to several problems, though. First, what happened to Parley and Jeanne?? Second, when we last saw this scene from the perspective of Annie, it was a huge maze and the Green Man was chasing her (after having grabbed and hurt her). How is she sitting around so calmly? Is she being pulled into Kat's version of the scenario? She certainly can't see what Kat sees, since she has to ask Kat about the shape of the keyhole.

Annie: Still a little freaked out.
Kat: Still has no clue why Annie is a little freaked out.
Shenanigans: Inevitable?

Annie had lost the green man the last time we saw the world with her eyes. There was just her, the maze, and Gigantic Robot Angel. Though things were starting to get messy when the conversation with Kat started. It reminds me of pages with Coyote. Gigantic Robot Angel is a god to the robots after all, in the same way that Coyote is a god to men. So I guess Kat might really have the power to warp the ether around her...

I suspect the lock would look super squiggly to Annie. She'll probably have to guide Kat through it. Hope we see the operation from her perspective.

I know that Annie knows lockpicking but it's just weird to see Annie know more about any technical topic than Kat.

Apparently both see the etheric lockpicks in the same way for now. So are those her etheric lockpicks that Smitty told her not to leave lying around the house etherically, or is it a manifestation that depends on real lockpick proximity, and the Court is too far away, but the boat is OK? So many rules questions we will have to wait two days to answer
Also the forum thread index now reads "Lucky Strike", who is responsible for this.

My best guess is this: We do see this from Kat's point of view. I'm quite curious how this really looks from Annie's side of things. However, I don't think, Annie would be saying lockpicks to whatever she is having in her hands. It's just like the remote control and the vhs back in the realm of the dead. While everything is technical for Kat, Annie might have a shiny green sword in her hands. Jeanne's boyfriend might still be chasing around the maze in Annie's vision. For Kat however, his jail, the device, the archer pinned him to the ground of the river, is simply a lock which needs to be opened.
What might happen? Annie is handing the lockpicks over to Kat and is guiding her through lockpicking 101. Thus, combining etherical and technical magic once more. How lovely that would be! The anger of the court-like world against the magic of the forest can only be overcome once these two kinds are working together in harmony.
Meanwhile I hope, Jeanne might be exhausted enough to give Parley the time to tell her what her friends are about to do.

Apparently both see the etheric lockpicks in the same way for now. Kat recognizes Annie, and lockpicks are with Annie. Oh, and since it's apparently Kat vision, she can see Annie's cut now. She didn't in "The Realm Of The Dead". So are those her etheric lockpicks that Smitty told her not to leave lying around the house etherically, or is it a manifestation that depends on real lockpick proximity, and the Court is too far away, but the boat is OK? So many rules questions we will have to wait two days to answer Or those are etheric lockpicks that are with Annie because she remembered to bring there her real kit?

I also assume Kat has to pick the lock because Annie is mentally/etherically stuck inside the lock/arrow. I really wonder what it will look like from Annie's perspective when she hands the lock picks to the Mecha Angel.
I believe Kat's etheric warping thingy pulled their real bodies into a pocket of alternate reality like we saw in The Torn Sea. It didn't pull in their boat because it was only touching Kat and Annie when Kat did something to activate it. But it did pull in their clothing and whatever was in their clothing. I assume Annie's etheric connection to the arrow and Green Guy is why he also appears in Kat's pocket reality.

I really hope we get to see the undoing of this lock from Annie's perspective, if only because it would look way more awesome than Kat's.

We've seen Annie walk Reynard through the steps of lock picking, Kat should be an apt pupil. As far as how the time lines are running between the two group hopefully Annie and Kat will finish just in time...

I'm wondering if we'll see everything from Kat's POV, with Annie watching in wonder/horror, mouth agape. Using an overlifter isn't exactly hard, so it'd be pretty comical for Kat to say "That was easy", with Annie's mind reeling.

Since Annie is 'in' the lock, I wonder if she'll have to run around as to not get crushed by Kat moving parts of the lock.

Quick non sequitur question: does proboards look wonky for anyone else right now? Everything looks messed up in my browser view (chrome). Just wanted to find out if it's a problem with the site or with my browser. (Other sites seem to look fine)

Sounds like directing an untrained crane operator from the ground. Quick non sequitur question: does proboards look wonky for anyone else right now? (Other sites seem to look fine) I am on my mobile and Proboards looks no more wonky than normal.

Remember, not everything in the ether is completely subjective like the RotD was, since Kat saw the same psychopomps as Annie. Not everything needs to be ultra-convoluted with sixteen layers of different perception. The lockpicks could, in fact, just be lockpicks that Annie is about to pass up to the giant metal angel in the sky.

Annie's changed how she sees things (ie Smitty's strings); Kat might see something different this time if Ketrak visits her again.

I'll get it." *crunch* I suppose if Kat stepped on Ketrak, another Ketrak would just manifest itself again. Insects are going to keep dying and its not like any of the other psychoppomps will want that assignment.

You forgot "Sexy Robot Elohim guiding civilization to some unimaginable apotheoisis"... Their physical eyes work the same and see the same stuff; their "etheric eyes" are the ones that work differently...

Pretty sure we're gonna get a hilarious scene of Annie frightenedly trying to hand over the lock picks to Kat from an arm's length while Kat looks at her like she's an idiot. Then in the next page, we'll get the TERRIFYING image of God Kat taking the lock picks from Annie and warping them across and through the labyrinth
