So, what if Smitty decides to bail Parley out and they are teleported to safety?

So, what if Smitty decides to bail Parley out and they are teleported to safety? Assuming they somehow get everyone on the shore to safety, not sure if his luck and/or her ability are able to stretch out to Kat and Annie, who are still basically sitting ducks in a boat way off in the middle of the water.

I'm just waiting for Kat to simply kick Jeanne in the knee and watch her crumble, while Annie sees the Mecha Angel engage in epic spiritual battle with the wraith.

Eh, I think it would be cheap if Kat would've just casually gained the ability to defeat Jeanne, given how much preparation for this chapter this comic has showcased. Besides, the Mecha Angel form has so far only been shown as a visual representation of Kat under certain circumstances; there has not been any indication that it would grant any special ability.

I wasn't entirely serious. Though I based the idea only on Kat's confirmed power of seeing everything in the Ether in a simple, matter-of-fact way that makes solutions to the problems it presents obvious to solve. I doubt that Jeanne can actually be defeated that easily, but I wouldn't wonder if Kat only saw her as a normal person with a sword.

Why would George hold back now, of all times?
She's risking getting even more hurt or even killed before she can make proper use of her abilities.
She should go all out from the very beginning. With what info we have so far, not doing so makes absolute no sense.

With what info we have so far, not doing so makes absolute no sense. Parley is trying to draw this fight out for as long as possible. Jeanne will learn and adapt to Parley's moves, so it makes sense to feed Jeanne one surprise at a time. It could work as long as Jeanne doesn't surprise Parley. I don't think Jeanne has any reason to believe she needs to end this fight quickly so she may play along, at least until she realizes someone is messing with her boyfriend.

Where is the tooth? Why is Parly using a broadsword vs something light and quick? Where are the teleport stutter moves?

Good. The author's comment says "meanwhile," which means pretty soon we will see one of my favorite words in the comments: Un-meanwhile! I'm guessing that Annie and Kat will emerge from the arrow just as Jeanne is about to stab Parley.

If Parley didn't bring an easily-concealable, ridiculously powerful weapon on this insanely difficult mission, then... come on. And we know she knows about it too! I'm guessing that Annie and Kat will emerge from the arrow just as Jeanne is about to stab Parley. Of course. Just in the nick of time.

Not only does she know about it, we even saw her train with a wooden sword in a shape similar to the tooth (p1298), so it's definitely I'm 99% sure it's coming. First up are the BIP strikes, though. Until the long sword breaks or is cut in half. Then comes the tooth.

Remember that the goal is not to kill Jeanne, but to free her. Parley won't bring out the tooth unless she has no other choice.
Until then, etheric scars for everyone!

It's possible Parley just has a little problem with her Bipping capabilities: maybe some loose wires... As the dead girl said:

This is going to be a reminder for everybody that being a victim doesn't make you good or nice. What is left of Jeanne is a murderous rage spirit who has mercilessly killed all the Psycopomps who tried to help her...
For all we know, once she''s free from the river she will use her freedom to go on a murderous rampage across the Court, cutting hundreds of children into tiny pieces...

The ROTD is probably still looking for a replacement for Mort. Surely, Jeanne would love to haunt the Court?

To bip or not to bip, That is the question, Whether tis nobler in mind to suffer, The slashes and snips of enraged phantom, Or to teleport tooth against the water bound trouble, And by opposing end it.
Seriously though, she must drawing out the battle as long as she can, in order to buy more time for Annie and Kat. There would be no point in hurting herself when she could help it, and increasing the odds of Jeanne killing someone else, otherwise.

I am now seriously irritated with Robot and Parley.
Parley was in an ideal position to engage Jeane as friend, to lead her into accepting that she and her companion were being rescued. But Robot attacked, and Parley joined that attack, making Jeane rightly feel she had been betrayed. Now it's a fight, Parley's an enemy, and no way out in sight.
What a wasted opportunity!
Assuming Parley can "win", that might well mean destroying Jeane, and completing Diego and the Court's coverup.
