He was going to say "Mummy", wasn't he? It might be just me, but Annie's speech seems to be getting a bit more informal recently.

I think that's supposed to be S13. That's the temporary body that Kat whipped up for him, and now we'll see her make something better.

Its Robot!!! And shadow 2 is back!!!
He was sooo going to say Mummy (Mommy). LAUGHING ON LINE, he doesnt need to hold himself back, that makes him more lovable.

Eh, again I have to say I didn't see that coming. It's Robot, of course. Duh.

I definitely didn't see that coming either! But I'm glad the little mousebot didn't turn out to be something sinister, 'cause I actually thought he was kinda cute when he first appeared.

So the mouse was not a spy device or connected to the Tick-Toc's, but instead is Robot in a tiny mouse body.
Nice.

He was sooo going to say Mummy (Mommy). LAUGHING ON LINE, he doesnt need to hold himself back, that makes him more lovable. I'd seen Robot's "MU" too...but I concluded he was going to say Muut. *blush* Now I'm left to wonder if that's just my morbid look on life, or if it's actually a fair reading of Robot's infection with the tree-limb and his criminal record in Robot Central I do seem to recollect that we've not seen any evidence that the technological / scientific side of GC can see the natural / supernatural side if the spirits etc don't want it. Remember Kat's inquiring mind that led her to ask Antimony for a glimpse of the insect guide ? (I forget his name right now). I wish Tom would update more so we could read faster *muses on that ol' stephen king novel about a sadistic fan kidnapping her favourite author* (just kidding!)

Count me as another person who was genuinely surprised (I think we all were) that the robot mouse turned out to be Robot/S13. That has to be one of the biggest jaw-dropping moments that Tom's pulled off in the webcomic yet. (Or at least, that's how it seems now.)

I'm glad that the mouse turned out to be S13. Definitely caught me by surprise. And I am happy to see Shadow 2 again as well.

Anja's old workshop is huge. Also very empty. I wonder if she stored any of her old inventions somewhere.

silvercat, that was my first thought as well. Then I re-read it and remembered he used to call Annie 'mummy'. It's very cute.

Anyone else seeming to notice that Shadow 2 doesnt seem to keen on going back home anymore? He got to go back home in the 1st chapter, though after staying with Ann for so long, its like he went back to say "hey guys, i'm moving in the court, Kthxbai".

Feels a lot like Stockholm Syndrome to me.
Shadow 2 has spent so long imprisoned in the Court, it's kind of grown on him. What with his extended absence from the Woods, he relates better to those inside the Court than those in the Woods.

Maybe also Gillitie isn't so fun a place to live in any more. Ysengrin controls the trees in it - and given his current disposition....
Of course, Shadow2's decision to stay in the Court means that Annie ultimately sent Robot across that bridge and unwittingly stirred up all that trouble for nothing - or maybe not. For one thing, we don't know that she actually stirred up that trouble; what we know about Ysengrin so far suggests that he was trying to manipulate events to give an excuse for a war (his actions certainly don't suggest a persecuted innocent).
And maybe also, these troubles may lead to some good. Gunnerkrigg and Gillitie aren't at open war with each other at present, but they can hardly be at peace - not while the forest-folk regard the school with resentment of its science and technology, while the teachers look down upon them as mere talking animals. Maybe this is one reason why Jones (who can look upon both sides impartially and see their faults) approves of Annie's going to Gillitie: she may see the events that Annie's helped bringing about as necessary to solve the problem, events that may lead at last to a true reconciliation between the Court and the Wood rather than a mere uneasy truce and absence of fighting.

I just gotta say I really like the way Tom drew the sky and the buildings in the distance. That sketchiness is a cool effect.
