Greetings, Gunnerkrigg Court forum! I discovered this comic earlier this week, binge-read the whole thing, and am now ready to read the slow trickle of updates as they come out.
I see that there are books compiling the comic strips. Unfortunately, I am one of those people who finds printed books to be an inconvenience, and so I prefer to go digital if possible. I'd still like to be able to reread GC offline, get any bonus content in the books, and support the strip financially. The obvious solution would be to buy PDF versions of the books...but, if digital versions exist at all, I can't find where to buy them. Buying PDF compilations is how I normally support webcomics I like. Can I do that for GC? Are there plans to sell digital versions of the compilation books in the future?
Thanks in advance.

I am not aware of any formally published PDF versions, but a while ago GK Sierra provided me with a file containing saved images of all of the pages up to that point. My set is no longer up to date, but he could probably provide you with the set of images to make your own PDF. I assume you need a PDF for times when you're without an Internet connection? Because, I mean, the comic is always online And finally, welcome to the forum! I hope you enjoy your stay

Thanks for the response, Daedalus. There are three reasons I was interested in PDFs: 1. For when I don't have an internet connection, as you pointed out. 2. To support the comic. I suppose I can still support the comic via donations, though. 3. To get any bonus content that is in the books but not online. However, I realize that I don't actually know if there is any bonus content in the books that isn't online. I just sort of assumed there was If there isn't, and everything in the books is already online, then I suppose I'd be just as well off downloading all the strips from the comic website and throwing some money towards Tom via the donation button. And I'm glad to be here! This seems like a friendly community, by internet standards

... then I suppose I'd be just as well off downloading all the strips from the comic website The Firefox plugin pilfer allows you to simply download webpage images that are sequentially numbered into a folder on your computer. From there either just read them offline (most image viewers such as IrfanView will display them in sequential order) or use a tool to create a PDF or ZIP. One way to do this is use 7Zip to add all the saved images to a Zip file and then most free PDF readers let you read such Zip files as sequential images, I use Sumatra PDF. Edit to add you can also use IrfanView to assemble many images into one PDF. Simple guide is here: brianmahoney.ca/2011/09/create-pdf-files-using-irfanview-free-is-good/ . Make sure you get IrfanView and its plugins from the official IrfanView web page. I only just learnt this method and it appears to create very large PDFs by default, about 4 times the diskspace of the component images, but there are many settings invloving compression and quality I have yet to explore.

3. To get any bonus content that is in the books but not online. However, I realize that I don't actually know if there is any bonus content in the books that isn't online. I just sort of assumed there was There is some extra material near the end of the books (sketches, character art, some adorable pictures of Annie and Rey) but I haven't seen that stuff online. I don't think there is a PDF that includes that unfortunately. And yes, this place is full of cool people we're glad to have you! You're welcome to leave a post in the Introduction Thread if you are planning to stay involved here.
