It was kind of unclear whether Annie saw that particular display on the ship. I think we would at least have gotten a reaction shot of Annie's first sighting of the Mecha-angel. Especially since we are shown Paz's reaction. |

I was looking for how to delete threads rather than individual posts. Thanks. Regarding this page: the chapter was running long so it makes sense that it would end without resolving everything. See also The Torn Sea. This will mean that book 6 ends on a cliff hanger. In retrospect it also makes sense that Kat would be in robot angel form in the ether. I wonder how Annie will react to this, since Kat probably will communicate with her while in this form. |

Interesting Thankfully this is a webcomic and we aren't waiting 12 months for the cliffhanger to be answered in the next volume (or waiting 5 years if this was most long-running fantasy authors). But we're totally getting not just a treatise but also City Face aren't we? |

Great looking page. If Kat could do that, why send Annie in? I guess that tech is still in beta form. Because sending Annie to talk the weird stuff down is a tried-and-tested solution, while this wand thing is untried and untested. |

Maybe Annie has always seen Kat that way in the ether. And that's just because she doesn't want to hurt her feelings by descripting how she looks that she hasn't tell yet. Makes sense ?
Anyway, first reaction : AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH !!!
And then, I saw comment about how this is the end of the chapter AND the 6th book (I've read Tom's comment but I just woke up and didn't sleep enough and I'm still in shock about that beautiful yet scary page), and I'm just like "Wow !"
Édit : on second thought, maybe Kat will see those appendices hanging from her and will start to notice how she looks right now and will panick...

The cracks seem to meld into the maze walls above. It looks like mechangel is replacing the old prison with the new (and hopefully transferring the occupants to the device Kat is holding.)

However and whenever the fractures in the Mecha Angel's skull are caused, they will always have been part of the Mecha Angel because of the whole thing about beliefs being able to manifest themselves prior to when those those beliefs started. Everything we've read indicates that the Mecha Angel is/was/will be created by the robot's belief in her. That means the fractures in the Mecha Angel's skull exist because the bots believe her skull is fractured. We just don't know why the bots believe her skull is fractured. The simplest explanation is that Kat's suffers a serious, possibly fatal, head wound and the bots incorporate it into their religion. I also think Annie did not see the Mecha Angel during The Torn Sea because of the blue smoke and where she was standing. Annie may not recognize the Mecha Angel as Kat now or when they are talking about what happened after the mission is complete, and Kat won't know what Annie is talking about. It may depend on whether Kat tries to speak and whether Annie thinks Kat's voice is coming from the Mecha Angel. Paz seems to have known she was seeing Kat because of Kat's voice, but Paz's communication ability might have played a role as well. EDIT: We can't see the Mecha Angel's bird hat/crown. It goes down most of her brow and we can see enough of her skull that I would think it would be visible. Zimmy saw it and it was there during The Torn Sea, so I don't know what it's possible absence here means. |
