I genuinely don't know where this is going to go, mostly because I feel like the only person who could get out of an Eldritch Machine like this is Kat.
I hope the concerned face leads to a splash panel showing off how truly mind-boggling this place is.

Do you have any way to make contact with Kat through the ether? She's shown a natural affinity towards this kind of machine before. Or Smitty. He seems to have a knack for puzzles. |

I see it. This has all been a overly complicated ploy, to teach Annie the advantages of studying. Jeanne was in on it the whole time. She's actually become a friendly spirit, whose main hobby is crochet. She made golden star of yarn for the occasion.

Annie: Great, I shall go down there and free The Green Guy - maybe Jeanne will be freed as a side effect! Kat: What if you get trapped in as well? Annie: Oh don't be silly dear. |

Is Annie careless, or does she have tremendous faith in Kat? I think we will see that the Gang considered the possibility that Annie would get trapped and Kat has the backup plan. Tom could have Annie say that she knows Kat will use "it" and bust her out, but it would make the story boring. |

inb4 Annie gets trapped/killed and in a (forum-exploding) plot twist we have the first main cast casualty in GC, with repercussions felt till the end and other cast members uttering "if only Kircheis Annie was here..." every so often.

I don't think I'll ever get over Annie's carelessness in this chapter. What exactly do you think she could have done to prepare for what is essentially the unknown? Based on the flashback with Kat, it seems they have considered the possibility that she might get trapped. |

Also, interesting that this place have moving parts. If I would design a etherical prison I would put all the important stuff away from the prisoner.
