I know water and fire don't mix very well but he's very aggressive for this chase. I wonder if we're gonna get into his thought process for this, even if it's just mindless spite.

This chapter has made me like Jeanne far more than I did before. She is not just a vengeful spirit. She is still capable of love, friendship, loyalty. And Annie and co are adding to her trauma even if they are trying to help her. IMO Diego should burn in hell [if such place exists in the GC universe] and I do hope there is an uber Hell for the Court council, like an ultra hot place and ultra sharp tridents. While I find Diego despicable I can somewhat with a bit of effort understand his reasoning (and then I need to wash my brain in bleach), but the court council? I can not fathom how anyone would condemn two living souls to this for ever. And it also makes me uncomfortable liking Kat's parents and "that guy" as they are complicit in this and who knows what other atrocities. Coyote is not a saint either but he is a god so madness an avarice are expected of one. Anyway sorry for the rant. media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lmury6Y5jc1qbjcuj.gif

Jeanne's imprisonment/the arrow were well before Kat's parents' time and it's been mentioned in-universe that the founders' scheme has been long forgotten.

Loose ends everywhere! So much going on and so much to resolve and it's IMPORTANT, dammit!

Hmm, two possibilities here. 1) our watery friend isn't actually attacking Annie here.... more like he is following her, out of ... curiosity? He's moving to the side to parallel her, rather than moving *at* her. In that case, Annie may be overreacting here, perhaps similar to Parley, in her (maybe too quick?) confrontational stance with Jeanne. or... 2) water guy *was* moving at Annie to attack, and a "fire boots" kick has turned him aside...

I can not fathom how anyone would condemn two living souls to this for ever. Fear for their safety. So desperate to keep themselves safe from the angry forest-folk that they would do anything, no matter how immoral, to ensure their survival. The best I can say is that they may have been unaware of just how much torment they'd be putting Jeanne and her lover through; the Court does give me the feeling of meddling with things they don't entirely comprehend. (Which still holds true, in light of their experiments at the power station and their consequences. And what Jones said about the likely results of those experiments if they continue - bringing all of humanity's nightmares into the human world. From that perspective, maybe we can't blame the forest-folk for being so alarmed about the Court's activites.)

Oh yeah! Fiery jet boots, in ya face. Someone needs to start making GC action figures STAT. Annie "Annan Waters" figure. Stealth grey! Now with Fire Jets!!!Hmm, two possibilities here. 1) our watery friend isn't actually attacking Annie here.... more like he is following her, out of ... curiosity? He's moving to the side to parallel her, rather than moving *at* her. If it's #1, he may be trying to guide Annie through the maze of machinery. Perhaps, guiding her to a certain spot. Diego would have had to made the arrow, to withstand his specific Etheric meddling. A Fire Elemental might be able to free them both.

A Fire Elemental might be able to free them both. yeah, it sorta seemed like water guy might have been heading off at an angle - maybe to lead her somewhere, as you suggest. Perhaps when he "grabbed" her before, it was more like an inquisitive "what have we here? fiery?! maybe she can help get us out...." - Not meaning to scare her, or attack her. Maybe both Annie and Parley are overreacting a bit, and neither water guy nor Jeanne are quite as nasty as they thought....

You know what I just realized? Annie is doing this. She's basically a firebender. "Long ago, the Forest and Court lived in harmony. But everything changed when the Fire Elementals attacked."
