That's a nasty right hook Parley has. And Jeanne's still somewhat in the illusion. This is going to be fun, to say the least.

Jeanne must've been taken in by the illusion.

Jeanne must've been taken in by the illusion. Taken in by the illusion of friendship after being alone for so long. Just to be betrayed once more.

If only George had known, she might have been able to string Jeanne along a little bit longer.

Also, this page should include a warning: may contain traces of Robot :-(

And there's that little cellphone-like device, again. It's falling with Robot's former head. I don't recall it being on Robot's waist before now. I wonder what its importance is? A method for Kat to know when things are getting dicey? Call cavalry button? Rugged brainchip case? Would that make Robot's brain hot-swappable?

If only George had known, she might have been able to string Jeanne along a little bit longer. Blue might be indignant later that they didn't trust her illusion a bit longer, but Parley just saw a friend become a mixture of spare parts and spare ribs, so... I guess this will be resolved by Annie and the Green Arrow just in the nick of time, so we might need to get back onto that point of view as soon as Wednesday.

Why would she do that, when Blue just said she can't keep hold of her while she's fighting?

"George, we were BFFs!" Jeanne, I love you, but you're being a total b*!$# right now!" "NO U!"
That being said, I am surprised that Jeanne seems to be feeling so... betrayed, it seems?

Why would she do that, when Blue just said she can't keep hold of her while she's fighting? Because the illusion is on the verge of failing anyway. Someone has to keep Jeanne busy, because she is fast. They can't risk her even noticing the presence of any of the non-fighters, because chances are the moment she does, they're dead.

She is so scary, but I feel so bad for her!
Though, I suppose that's how she originally got Annie, so good job I'm not down there or she'd get me too.
It seems like this is a disaster and will at best end in retreat, but I hope they can help her soon!

Well, I think the WhoWillDie poll is going to need a Multiple Choice Option...
Also, my very thought: Damn, Parley!!!!

Despite the fact that this is a strangely heartbreaking scene, I must admit, I think I have a fictional crush on Parley. Dayum.

Well, Robot might be in pieces but his eyes are still lit unlike the robot on p.704. That could be a good sign for his continued existence.

PLOT TWIST: Jeanne is actually still alive, yet trapped in a state between life and death. Once she is freed from the arrow's power, she will become a denizen of the Forest, under Coyote's protection. Jeanne ends up forming an unlikely friendship and comaraderie with Ysengrin. Meanwhile, a dark power arrives due to the guardian no longer guarding the chasm...

And there's that little cellphone-like device, again. It's falling with Robot's former head. I really liked that head. And I think Robot was quite attached to it. Well that won't work; he has nothing left to push a button with. That was what I thought or hoped for a moment. but... Well, Robot might be in pieces but his eyes are still lit unlike the robot on p.704. That could be a good sign for his continued existence. ...I guess this means the chip is still "safely" in his head. By the way, I just noticed the device was on his body before, but not on his waste.

This is a pretty big departure form the "I will murder you for coming down here" Jeanne that they encountered the last time. Can Blue's illusion's force people to experience emotions (I.e. betrayal/friendship)? If not, than Jeanne in her current state can actually experience positive things instead of just hatred and more hatred. Interesting developments all the way!

So, who's this other George*?
The device the chip is embedded within has survived, but once again, completely separated from any sort of body.
*You didn't think she's the first Parley named George, did you?

Now that you've mentioned it, I think it's just a device Kat uses to track his muscular developement since New Data, or something. But it's never brought up, so it's impossible to know unless it is adressed in the story later on.

Please don't spoil other webcomics. They didn't, really. But oh boy... as someone that was something of a fan/acquainted with that particular webcomic, there isn't really much to spoil there, unrewarding as it was. Let's leave it at that, since this is a totally different comic which holds itself to a higher standard both visually and narratively.

Someone has to keep Jeanne busy, because she is fast. They can't risk her even noticing the presence of any of the non-figThe hters, because chances are the moment she does, they're dead. The illusion was fading because she was fighting. She'd just defeated Robot (who she thought was just one of Diego's machines) and expressed shock that Parley would hit her. Attacking her was a bad move, unless she can play it off like she wants to spar.
