Part of me was expecting Parley to jump into the ravine then and there. But really, it seems odd that Annie wouldn't take a bit more time to retrain her etheric muscles; not like Jeanne is going anywhere.

They all leveled up enough. There's a missing montage scene... [Survivor - Eye of the Tiger] 1. Smitty - bip! 2. Parley - buffed (through the roof!) 3. Tooth-blade - sharpened by moonlight 4. Kat - It's alive! MUAHAHAHA! 5. Annie - hair cut! I think it's time...

So when Parley arms herself with Coyote's tooth to deal with the little problem down there, what are the betting odds that she'll cut some of the strings linking herself and our boy Smitts?
If they're good, I think i'd fancy a flutter.

OK, I admit, I got serious goosebumps from this.
All four of them are still in training, and yet they have the confidence to meet their biggest and most dangerous opponent.
Annie doesn't really know if her powers are back yet or are good enough to face her. Kat's developments aren't fully done. Robot might be needed, but can he really play an important role while being in love with Shadow. George has gotten stronger, but not finished training yet. She is quick, but quick enough to face an angry expert ghost fencer? Andrew was incredibly lucky so far, but is this enough against - what did Parley call Jeanne? - a deranged psychopath?
Oh, this is going to be great!
I wonder, did the 'old gang' around Surma, Jim and the lot face a similar task? Was it Jeanne, too? Is history going to repeat itself yet again but on a larger scale this time?
And on a more sad note: What happens after they face Jeanne and maybe succeed in bringing her into the ether? Will the comic come to an end then?

Parley looks so manly you'd expect her to unbuckle and take a leak right from that brindge and down to the ravine.
(Which is, btw a surprisingly pleasing thing to do, all you guys and gals surely must have done it at least once at some point. If not, you don't know what you are missing.)

all you guys must have done at least once at some point I have mild to severe acrophobia when seeing myself more than 3 m above ground, and I must say merely thinking about what you said is making me dizzy. Also: Never piss upwind.

Probably not. because there are many other as-yet-unresolved plot threads. Kat's project and the "robot religion" it's become linked to is one. Another is whatever the Court's big goal and purpose is, and its troubled relations with the Wood, which have to be solved somehow.

If they're good, I think i'd fancy a flutter. Had not thought of that. After all, Coyote doesn't seem upset by Andrew's presence. That is a very good and concerning point.

Like I said in my first post to this forum some years ago, I say it again: the final rumble in this comic will be a Court-Forest war, and for that to happen, the gost of Annan must be freed. "Why is Ysengrin referred to as "General"? This is simple: he controls all the trees in the forest, remember; probably all of them at once too. Imagine what would happen if Jeanne's ghost was freed.

IT'S HAPPENING I get a bad feeling. We're only halfway through the story, and they seem to be confronting the final boss. However, I eagerly anticipate the revelations to come! I feel these last few chapters have been a bit plot-light, so I'm happy to see what's about to happen. I'll also hang around the forum a bit more now that there will be substantive things to discuss

IT'S HAPPENING I get a bad feeling. We're only halfway through the story, and they seem to be confronting the final boss. Not necessarily. For one thing, external conflict in the form of fights doesn't play that large a role in the comic (most of the clashes being more subtle). And for all we know, Annie and her friends may be facing bigger problems than Jeanne (such as the tensions between the Court and the Wood which helped lead to Jeanne's imprisonment).

Right, it almost looked like there isn't going to be a massive cliffhanger. All four of them are still in training, and yet they have the confidence to meet their biggest and most dangerous opponent. Jeanne isn't as much of an "opponent" as a part of mess, however dangerous she is. And on a more sad note: What happens after they face Jeanne and maybe succeed in bringing her into the ether? That could be done only as a final step of sorting out big mess (what about the elf-boy and that arrow? etc), so not any time soon.

A great disturbance in the robot world was felt. Jeannie is beautiful. Jeannie died and we did nothing. www.youtube.com/watch?v=9J_oCToJJhc "I tried my imagination but I was disturbed."

This could actually be a good time. Jeanne surprised Annie and Parley last time by snatching away the blinker stone Annie was using, and she's been training to see the ether without it. If nothing else, that won't be a trick she can pull a second time.
