Annie has the face of a ruthless killer of feelings.
Look at her, not even a single look of remorse for rejecting William!
Cold-blooded, Carver.

Where's Renard gone to? I assumed he'd disappeared with Janet but that doesn't seem to be the case.

The fact that Winsbury and Janet are acting like a legit spy team is hilarious.
Which implies one thing, one crucial, important thing:
It's a secret.

Annie's face in the last panel is not unlike a cat (or fox) who's been at the cream.
Things may not have gone as planned, but have had the desired effect.

Annie's face in that final panel is one of such cherubic innocence and nonchalance that I immediately burst out laughing.
It appears that, not only is Annie dealing with her anger issues by turning into a troll, SHE IS EXCEPTIONALLY GOOD AT IT.

I can totally imagine an absurd situation right now where the kids just start wildly speculating based Annie's blank expression and end up randomly drawing the conclusion that Winsbury and Janet are a couple.

And yes, it is beautiful

Annie's getting her groove back!
Seriously, when's the last time she had the chance to be part of secret plan (a fun one) and tease people in any way? This is so great to see.

Annie's face in that final panel is one of such cherubic innocence and nonchalance that I immediately burst out laughing. And this, ladies and gentlemen is Annie Looking Like Nothing Happened. Remember this well, because if you ever see it, it means... The. Heads. Will. Fall. [Dun-dun-duuunnn]

How come this was posted one hour earlier than usual? It could be something to do with different countries transitioning onto daylight savings on different dates.

How come this was posted one hour earlier than usual? DST shenanigans? Also, cue Mission Impossible music for the first few panels.

Go on Annie, milk that attention for as long as you can and bask in the warm golden light of friendship.
That empty cold white room your father provided waits for your return. Hopefully you'll put some color in that place.

Those expressions in the last panel are amazing. Is Tom emulating another webcomic's art style, or is this just the "I'm so excited for Annie that my intense need for details cannot be contained inside the standard character design" thing?
Also, I take back what I said about Tom's choice of direction this chapter. This is too damn entertaining and some much needed fun after the year of Tony.

Where's Renard gone to? I assumed he'd disappeared with Janet but that doesn't seem to be the case. Or he's "taking a nap" somewhere, in order to rudely spy on the affair.

On further reflection, maybe Antimony is thinking about making a public announcement that Winsbury asked her out and they are now a couple. In addition, he promised to take her to lots of expensive restaurants and theme parks to cheer her up...

For this operation to be a success, we're going to need Annie to look as demure as possible.
Perfect.

New headcanon: Janet and Winsbury are an undercover spy team. The covered up romance is a cover up for anyone who gets too close to uncovering the truth.

Hmm, Annie has never been good at lying or subtle acting. Either her current state of literal emotional detachment will help her out here, or The Secret™ is in danger, guys.

Annie is good at being committed to the wellbeing of others. She is not a busybody or tale bearer. If she feels that Winsbury and Janet should be the ones to decide who to tell about their relationship she can just remain silent. As for her going out with Winsbury she doesn't have to lie, she can just say it would be inappropriate and she isn't interested.
