I was thrown off by Daylight Savings, yes.
Thread title should have been "'Cus I'm a jerk", heh.

I almost posted, but held back due to my noobishness.
I vote we ban daylight savings, then give Annie a big hearty congrats. Looks like she's growing up!

It isn't DST in the UK/Ireland until the last Sunday of March. I was wondering what you all were on about Edit: As a Yank immigrant, I claim the right to be absolutely half-dead this morning anyway.

Especially as it isn't even daylight savings in europe for another 2 weeks.
And I don't know if it is genuine or not. Annie looks surprised that she isn't getting fiery, which she would only do if she was feeling annoyed but was surprised she had enough control to not show it, surely?

Annie has other things to do besides being mad at William and Janet. Well, thin kind of happened before (when a boy pretended he liked Annie). She's starting to get used to it, I guess. But why did Annie look at her hands in panel 6?

This is the Annie I like to see - genuinely happy and smiling with friends. I think she was caught so off-guard here that it would have been impossible for her to be faking her reaction. (This sort of thing is why she should socialize more often.)

Annie looked at her hands because she was surprised she's not on fire. Her emotions are somewhat out of her control, and she's surprised that Fire!Annie isn't angry about this development ("I guess I'm not angry!"). the mask is on properly this time not sure if that is a good thing tho Why are you so certain it's a mask? This seems genuine. Ehh. Pretty hard to tell. My personal opinion is that at this moment, in terms of emotions, Girl!Annie is pretty much always a mask unless Fire!Annie's emotions are showing through her. Hopefully this is a first step to reconciling the two, though.

Good way to find out about your own emotions: see if you're spontaneously combusting or not. That's what you get for outsourcing, I guess.

But why did Annie look at her hands in panel 6? Just a quick fire-check. Searing flames not spurring from her fingers and eyes => She is not even slightly vexed. Also, Will is not on fire => She is not mad at him. It is quite a blessing for her to have this internal-mood-indicator.

(Just keep thinking of a bowling ball, Annie.)

Annie may not be mad at Janet and William, but many some readers will be for be mad at Janet and William for not confirming why they need to keep their relationship secret.

Jack: So are you and William a couple now? Annie: No, I thought about it then realised I was really in love with Zimmy.

Jack: So are you and William a couple now? Annie: No, I thought about it then realised I was really in love with Zimmy. A way to get Jack jealous.

I'm guessing that her excuse will be that she's too busy trying to catch up to have time for a relationship.

I vote we ban daylight savings Yes. There are frequent votes in various parliaments for just that. So far not much progress has been made.

Why does she look at her hands? Those would be one of few things around not affected by an unfortunate mood swing.

Well I just assumed that because it was obvious that Annie wasn't actually into winsbury, this is actually a relief for her...

It's interesting, as an adolescent I was so focused on things like personal reward and humiliation and my own personal internal state that I didn't have time to think about others' motivations in anything other than a superficial way as it applied directly to me. As an adult I'm quite different and spend a lot of time thinking about the specifics of how others think.
So I probably would have been relieved as an adolescent in this situation. As an adult I'd either be amused or annoyed because of thinking about how LAME hiding a relationship in this way is and someone being kinda manipulative to get back at their partner for not being open about the relationship.
