I approve of anger management support. I don't approve of Etherical cheating to strike a pin! D:<

It's something.
That's one crisis (probably) averted, but I wouldn't imagine the ride is over, not by a damn sight.

This strip made me realise that Jedi bowling nights must be really really annoying.

I don't know if it's symbolism or what but that etherhair definitely looks longer than it did before.
(Annie you're still holding it wrong)

Hey, that's a major victory in my book! (I suck at bowling.)
I'm also a little heartbroken that my brain waited Until it was one episode too late to burst out with: "I set fi-i-i-re to the la-a-a-ne!"
Ah, well.

Rey bowls away the competition with his successful approach of focusing on student's learning instead of bragging with his own knack, without showing interest to showcase he demonstrates that haughty kid Will his loudly superior teaching skills on a matter that he does not even master himself. Cool as ever. Perhaps, after being turned down by Annie and finding himself in trouble with Janet, William will turn to the ladies expert for some guru guidance.

D:< Normally I'd agree but Janet may also be using her power, assuming what she does is a power and not some sort of physical gift. The playing field is possibly not level. Etheric means may also be a fun shortcut to the envied "infinity strike" as we used to call it. That's when you bounce a pin up into the setter and jam it. I haven't bowled since I was in single-digit years but we used to try for that using brute force at the old bowling alley when the attendant was inattentive.

Ah, bowling.
You and me both, Annie. You and me both.

This game is going to get really boring for Annie, soon. I'm reminded of a Discworld novel (can't remember which), where Death was trying to play golf, and just ended up briskly walking from one hole to another, since he obviously never missed.

Got that, William?

Huh...did anyone else think that Annie looked quite a bit like Jeanne in the second panel, with the straight-forward portrait, shut eyes, and undefined nose? Not that I believe it's intentional, but it's what jumped to my mind first.

Well, guess I was right about the cheating. Who wants to defend Antimony by talking about it's her talent and the only way she can do certain things so she's thusly allowed to use it?
Edit: Okay. Annie is single and got a single. Does that mean when she's in a relationship she'll cheat then too? I mean we've seen how kids who were once fairies and whatnot can think and do complex math without needing to focus their souls on it at the same time.
Can Winsbury even do right by Annie, both physically and etherically (and emotionally too, obviously?)
I don't think Winsbury knows what he's getting into.

Rey: "Excellent. Now, on your follow up shot, use your new skills and send a bowling ball into Winsbury's head." Annie: "Wait! What!" Rey: "Well it's... a technique that pro-bowlers use. Honestly, they'd probably find it strange, if you didn't put him in a coma through head trauma."

Hm. I can't decide if the last panel is more of the "woo yay I can't believe I did that" or the "little switch going CLICK" variety.

Guys, remember that Annie is also currently trying to regain control of her etheric self. This strip is less about cheating and more about the fact that she was able to do this at all right now.

And her hair is all connected in the ether! It doesn't have a break. Actually I think thats just etheric vision of her hair up to date. They were always longer in aether, and notice how they are cut in a straight line, before they tend to end with a "tail", or leaving the frame. Also I think that it is not her hair that are drawn with a gap (on some other occasions) - rather those are the elemental hair-flame, and the gap symbolise the barrier she put it behind.

The Court is basically a School for Etherically Gifted Youngsters. I think expecting students to not employ their various talents is silly, and perhaps impossible. These things tend to sort themselves out. If someone has so much of an advantage at a certain activity that no one can even compete with them, they'll either find themselves alone at it or be "encouraged" to bow out so everyone else can have fun. There will probably even be some who are motivated (as we saw a couple of pages ago) to try to match someone in the area of their super-talent by being that good - the "Batman vs. Superman" challenge.

Annie just set one lane on fire using her power (obviously out of control) and Rey went up to her openly guiding her on how to use it in a more controlled manner. I don't think the other bowlers are blind to what just happened, but no one was competing with Annie anyway. It's true that she still isn't good at bowling, but I don't think that's the point for anyone there.

Guys, remember that Annie is also currently trying to regain control of her etheric self. This strip is less about cheating and more about the fact that she was able to do this at all right now. This is exactly it. Who cares about the "cheating" (if we're even going to call it that for this group), Annie's not even able to function at her normal, healthy level. This night's entirely about helping her get back to normal. Also, this. I'm not sure she isn't going to shrug and admit it next. It's not like this would be a big deal. I think the same. It's true that she still isn't good at bowling, but I don't think that's the point for anyone there. 'xactly. Well, guess I was right about the cheating. Who wants to defend Antimony by talking about it's her talent and the only way she can do certain things so she's thusly allowed to use it? Boy, that's a heck of a way to start a debate. I'm sure you'll get all kinds of people taking you up on your offer, when it's so clear you're going to be an enjoyable person to chat with about it. I mean, you're so clearly neutral and calm-headed on the subject. Edit: Okay. Annie is single and got a single. Does that mean when she's in a relationship she'll cheat then too? I mean we've seen how kids who were once fairies and whatnot can think and do complex math without needing to focus their souls on it at the same time. Can Winsbury even do right by Annie, both physically and etherically (and emotionally too, obviously?) I don't think Winsbury knows what he's getting into. That edit is a heck of an assumption, and a rather odd way of interpreting this.

That's the one were he takes a vacation. It's been to long since I read it. Annie: single. Got that, William? Well, so nothing stands in his way to pursue her... Except that fox and that angry looking girl maybe.Annie will be ready to go up against Jeanne any day now. Tremble in the presence of her terrifying skills of bowling! This is now the official new strategy. With Diego's device as the single pin.

That arrangement of dark balls and pins above the "horizon line" of the border of Antimony's hair does look a bit like a skull. Seeing that made me revisit unbalanced 's post about Antimony's pose being Jeanne-like and decide he has a point.

And her hair is all connected in the ether! It doesn't have a break. Her hair! It goes far again! I kinda wonder what it looked like on the physical side of things. Just another throw? And her hair is all connected in the ether! It doesn't have a break. ? Since it's also yellow-tinted, it's the right border of her lane highlighted from above. Which itself is non-magical and as such semitransparent.
