I concede the point, haha. My roommate distracted me. Seriously, though, how does Annie not know how to bowl? Yes, great analysis by Renard. I reflected upon the thread title and chose this one, but your thread has, frankly, better title. Alas, it must be deleted.

I still think this is going to lead to etheric cheating.

Rey: "... Plus, not catching the lane on fire seems to be the way the others do it. So..."
I've just noticed they're all alone in the bowling alley. Tom has often mentioned, how he wants to create the sense of the Court being primarily empty (Streets, subways, tunnels). This certainly fits.

Oh, Rey, Rey, you make me laugh... if I was in Annie's shoes I'd want to strangle you, though. If I said that to someone, they'd think I was sarcastic. But seriously, he's right, I used to "throw the ball in the general direction of the pins", focusing my attention on my hand, instead of "visualize the ball knocking down the pins", focusing my attention on the pins, and I doubled my (admittedly pathetic) average score when I figured that out.

The title for this one really should be "wow, no shit Rey". It does not appear anywhere on the page, so it is an illegitimate page thread name.

The title for this one really should be "wow, no shit Rey". Eh, it's a good way of thinking about it. If you think of the game as "throw the ball down the lane" you'll rarely do well. But if you think of the ball as part of a really long arm, you're more likely to line the bowl up correctly. Somewhat similar goes for clubs and golfing. (It also helps somewhat in tennis, though you have to twist it a bit).

INB4 etherically-assisted quintuple strike. In a single throw.

I'm surprised fire alarms and sprinklers aren't going off. Can you put out a fire etherically? We have already seen that etheric fire can be undetectable. Though Annie's wording makes it unclear if etheric fire is undetectable to machines by default, or if she needed to do something special. More science-y thought: unlike the cows (which detected heat sources directly), fire alarms typically detect *smoke*. As etheric fire isn't actually burning any fuel, it might not produce smoke.
