At least the thumbnail isn't quite as terrifying when seen in context.
(No pressure, Winsbury.)

The forum has spoken! I'll copy over from my thread: "Rey's losin' it! He's a loose cannon!"

The forum has spoken! I'll copy over from my thread: "Rey's losin' it! He's a loose cannon!" Sorry about the mixup, haha. But this page has some cool stuff on it We see Annie actually acting happy again, Paz being all cute and hugging the Ladies' Expert, and FatherFigure!Renard being all protective. Not to mention John's striking skills that warp the physical lane with their power. People really do care for Annie, and it shows here (even if the plan to pair her with Winsbury seems abrupt). Speaking of which, today's page seems to support that he really plans to ask her to be his significant other; he wouldn't look this nervous otherwise. But Tom is a man who works in mysterious ways, so we'll see...

This chapter started with Annie recounting a recent incident where she lost control of her emotions/powers. I suspect Reynarine is a red herring.

OK, I woke up this morning and checked the page... No, no, I can't ignore it anymore, compare Winsbury's hair to the hair of the wood elves in the bonus comic. He is full on elf hair. Maybe that's why the headmaster is bent out of shape at the idea of him dating Janet. Not to be an overexcited shipper or anything, but what if the Court has guessed wrong and the child of fire elementals is able to successfully procreate with a child of the Forest, because, you know, sympathetic magic... very sympathetic... heh... heh... I'll get my hat.

I dunno, he's got an angry wolf-type being watching him closely. That's a good reason for nerves! Ether-watching. That can feel particularly unnerving. And that Rey ether-face, it looks like it could kill, and it probably can. John's striking skills that warp the physical lane with their power. So now we know what his special skill is. Supernaturally good at bowling. That can be useful. I guess. I'm not immediately sure how exactly, however, but then again I'm not an award-winning comic storyteller.

Let's see if he melts if he gets too near a flame. Heh. [edit] Also your word choices in "full on elf hair" makes me imagine Winsbury coughing up a green furball. [/edit]

We ain't talking NFL levels of fame and fortune here, but still. 2) One could bowl more than just bowling ball, and at more than just pins. Is mostly a specialized type of throwing a round-ish object.

Winsbury has nor romantic interest in Annie, he's just really good at Bowling, but Kat wants to win and uses Rey to throw him off balance.

I thought more in an epic adventure related way, like, related to the GKC's general storyline which I hope will not focus on Matt's professional bowling career. Winsbury has nor romantic interest in Annie, he's just really good at Bowling, but Kat wants to win and uses Rey to throw him off balance. I like this theory, but there's a hole in it: so far Kat seems to be doing nothing to prevent Matt from beating her, and he seems to be great at bowling. This hole may yet be filled, it is entirely possible that she has put strong laxatives to Matt's drink, for example, but as it stands she shows little intent to disturb his performance.

Rey's awful, he's totally throwing off Will's game right now! I'll let you figure out which game is being ruined right now...spoiler alert: it's both.

She considered telling Renard that *both* Winsbury and Matt were going to ask Annie out. But she ended up deciding that was a bit too reckless. Laxatives are a better idea, indeed.

Further affirmation that Winsbury is second generation Forest Folk (his parent(s) were Foley students).
Tom's ratio of artwork to text seems to increasing. I really noticed it in Traveller and the number of pages with no text in the main comic seem to be increasing too. I like it, but it does require patience.
That is John with the mad bowling skills. We haven't seen Matt since The Torn Sea. Neither he nor Paz were shown in Anthony's biology class and Matt wasn't in the crowd that saw Annie leaving the Year 10 apartments.

I'll get my hat. so perhaps Annie begins to parallel Jeanne - and falls for a "child of the forest"? and ... Rey loses another red-haired fire-lady to the love of someone else? (*maybe* in a fatherly way this time, but still...)
