Renard's excitement makes me wonder where we have seen him and Paz together before. He recognized her smell on Kat, so it must have happened before Chapter 46, but I cannot recall that at all.
Edit: This page also reveals that Kat has mastered the momentary displacement of her eyebrows, but knows that she must use her newfound power sparingly.

Also makes sense for Annie to ease back into society with the non-etheric, benign part of their friendship group before having to deal with the more challenging, etheric, involved in the main plotlines part of the friendship group. I mean, imagine if fragileAnnie (expialidocious) ran into Jack right then. Might have exploded his head off within the first 5 seconds. |

Interesting, they're all couples iirc. Annie's the only one not dating one of the others. EDIT: Well, Rey's also not dating anyone, so it isn't that Annie's 7th wheeling it up here fully, but still.

As you say, it is reasonable to assume that Renard and Paz met before even though it wasn't shown in comic. Tom has said before that things do happen off comic because he can only draw things that are necessary for the storyline. But if that is true in this case, then why is it now necessary to show that Renard and Paz are happy to see each other? My guess is Tom simply wanted to show that Annie's friends accept Renard and it makes sense to show that through Paz. |

Renard probably picked up Paz's scent while living in the girl dorms. He probably knows all the QN girls by their scent. He probably talked to Paz at least once after Kat and Paz started going out. |
